I started 7 yrs ago or so with a T2i from Canon. Within a year I had a 50d. When I upgraded to the 7d (for speed) I thought I was done. I was in love. it was time for better glass and that's what I picked up next. Good glass is a game changer. Few yrs later my style of shooting opened doors that led me to a full frame 5dm3. I was once again in love. When the 7dm2 came out I sold my 50d and 7d and picked one up. I love it and use it for everything sports and action. The 5d is taking a much needed brake. Crisp, fast, low iso were all the reasons and it has not let me down. I use it in very cold weather and for hours at a time. I shoot football games in low light as well as snowboard races in poor light at night. The iso allows me to do so, where the old 7d would not. you will find that your 60d will sit in your bag once you make the change and you may still change lenses. it's that good. As for the Nikon vs Canon thing, I compare it to the Ford vs Chevy fight. I started with Canon and so I stay there. had my first been a Nikon I may today own them. I see more Canon in the woods and on the sidelines so..... Doesn't make Nikon wrong.

I don't believe there is ONE answer for all types/places you shoot. I've worked in the outdoor industry for many years and have many pair of very high end gloves and mittens. I always carry more then one with me on a cold weather shoot (here in Michigan). Laughing as I admit the best I have found are a pair that cost $1.99 at the local hardware store. Fleece gloves that fit loose. I believe loose is the key. I put a hand warmer in the palm of my hand and it doesn't effect my grip on the camera. Loose fitting gloves give my fingers the ability to move free and I can pull them from the finger slot and wrap my fingers around the warmer between shots. I stay out for several hours at a time in sub zero temps all the time and have no issues at all. Good luck.

I use the 300m L f4 with my 7dmii and love it. I thought about the 100-400 when it first came out but by adding my 1.4 to the 300 I am about there +, so.....that and the fact that I know if I have 100-400, I will always be at 400 so.... I wait.

A friend picked up my 7d from me and she leans towards liking the macro thing. Given the crop factor could I get some suggestions as to what size macro lens would be best for her and WHY ?

update and start with thanks for the input. I believe I learned that I forgot I had the 300 on a crop camera body and not the 70-200. Turns out I was standing too close to the subject by about six inches. Went out today and had success. both lens and camera working well.

wondering if anyone has noticed a lens they have works well on one camera body and not so well on another. ?? I have a 300m f4 L Canon that has always been tack sharp In the past on 7d and 5dm3, but today while out with new 7dm2 I cant seem to get the same sharpness out of it. Any thoughts. Please stay on topic with answers, thanks.

Very please with the 7d m2. like the review says, the focus is tack sharp and fast. I feel this camera will give my 5dm3 a rest. This is now my go to for walking the woods wildlife. Adding my 300 f4 gives me great reach. photos soon.

ok, so I loaded a free trial of Lightroom and after 20 minutes of trying to figure out how to import photos I gave up. went back later, read the how to and it said press import. five minutes later I still can't find a botton called iimport. I walk away again. later I did find import in the file drop down. I played around a bit to get to know the site. I pressed make a book. Again I can seem to figure out how to add photos to the book. I deleted the program and took a walk. Thinking I need to drop by the camera shop and learn a bit more. I find picasa easy to use and was told Lightroom was very easy. Based on that, I am sure Elements would be no better for me. I would rather be out in the woods shooting and not sitting at a pc making photos. grrrrr.

just looking over the photoshop elements 5 and can't seem to find white balance adjustment. Over the past year my travels to shops and talking to other photogs I am learning to set all my setting to Nuetral or off and fix, adjust them all in post. Not a fan of the idea but willing to look into it. My Canon 5dm3 and 7dm2 both have creative shooting modes and I am being told to keep them neutral and not to enhance any features in the taking of photos. I am told to set white balance to auto and fix it later. One person really told me to shoot in the Green mode of my camera and just fix it all later. wow, that aint gonna happen. Part of me likes "taking " the photo the way I want it and cropping it later. Not excited about spending time to fix every single shot I take.
