Hi
I currently have a 60D. I love my camera. I am looking to add a 2nd camera mainly for wildlife and birding. I just read up on the 7D and like all the features and a big upgrade for me on the focusing points.
What I would like to know is, anyone that has the 7D II how you do you like it and why?
The reason I want a 2nd camera is there are times I want a shorter lens on my camera, but I don't have time to change lens and the object is Gone.
Thanks, Cassy

Cassy - A friend uses one and absolutely loves it. We took photos at the same event. My 50D photos paled in comparison to the high ISO images from the 7D mmii. I have my eye on that same camera.

The 7DII has 85% of the features of the 1Dx at a third of the price. Presently it's the best valued wildlife camera in a crop sensor. It's selling very well.

The Canon 7D MkII is a sensational camera. I have had one since they first came out and I've never looked back. I'll attach a couple of samples so you can see what it produces.
Believe me you can't go wrong, Cassy.

There is a quote wrongly attributed to P.T. Barnum but was actually made by one of his BIGGEST critics and detractors.

You know; the one about A SUCKER BEING BORN EVERY MINUTE???

Joe I just love the picture of the blue jays. I also checked out the birds on your website and you have a lot of gorgeous pictures. What do you use to process your photos?

"What I would like to know is, anyone that has the 7D II how you do you like it and why?"

I've read dozens of reviews and they're all different. Mostly lab tests. Cassy asked if anyone HAD one and how they liked it. That's what I've attempted to do. Will the Nikon equivalent do the same ABSOLUTELY, but she already has a Canon system so it wouldn't make sense to switch to another brand especially one that is so poorly supported by a limited lens system.
I think she would be better served to have Hoggers submit field tests so she can determine what works for them. That's what I'm trying to do. Do you think Matt Granger would be willing to post a few shots for her? That would help.

I use DPP (it comes with your camera) as a RAW conversion and then I use Photoshop CS6 for final tuning.

Joe, I think Canon has decided to take FULL advantage of loyal customers... and I don't mean that in a positive way. :x

This camera is 3 years BEHIND the competition, and it costs TWICE as much to boot.

Canon owners should NOT be suckered into spending premium money for a product that is not even CLOSE to what the market currently says is standard in terms of performance and image quality. :(

Nor should they be FOOLED into thinking that what Canon has to offer in the 7DII is anything BUT substandard when compared to the current state of the art for APS-C flagship cameras.

If this is the case, I guess I will always be behind the times with my camera. I started with Canon around 1980 and I will never change brands. If I ever do, then I have to change all my lens etc. I don't have that kind of money. So back to my original Question WHO has one now and how to you like it and Why? Thanks!!
