Ray.

I'm in the same situation as you ray. I'm saving for a 7D MKII, but until that time my 60D is my pride and joy! :-)

Pentax, Sony, Nikon, Canon? It's what my attorney would call a distinction without a difference. Given the limitations of on screen and print technology, most people couldn't tell the difference in output between them.

So, who's screwing their customers?

Trolls really should do their homework before posting on forums.

In the end, there is very little difference in the images made by any of the cameras... Be they Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, Olympus or anything else. You have to look at the images at magnifications well beyond ridiculous, much more critical than "normal usage" of photos for prints or publications, shared on the Internet or anywhere else.

Lenses in particular and the entire system surrounding the cameras are what's really important... both OEM and third party. Canon and Nikon have the largest OEM systems by far, as well as the most comprehensive support from third party manufacturers (Sigma supports both Canon and Sony pretty well... 40 lenses for Canon, 34 for Sony).

Sony has been very innovative in DSLR development and that's very good and cool... But, it doesn't really make all that much difference in the photos produced, unless you spend all your time pixel peeping and not really viewing the images in a practical manner.
Well, let's do a quick comparison of some "fu... (show quote)

Hi
I currently have a 60D. I love my camera. I am looking to add a 2nd camera mainly for wildlife and birding. I just read up on the 7D and like all the features and a big upgrade for me on the focusing points.
What I would like to know is, anyone that has the 7D II how you do you like it and why?
The reason I want a 2nd camera is there are times I want a shorter lens on my camera, but I don't have time to change lens and the object is Gone.
Thanks, Cassy

I've had a 60D, a 70D and currently have a 7DII and a 6D. I am getting to find the settings on the 7DII that work for me. It's an excellent camera but be prepared for a learning curve regarding the AF system. It has many more options than the 60D which is ultimately a good thing. I wonder why you want 2 crop sensor cameras? I think I have covered all bases with a full frame and a crop sensor. The 6D has great high ISO performance and can take wildlife photos in a pinch. The 7DII has a great AF system and good ISO performance. 6D prices are coming down pretty fast and the 7DII's will also in time. Time is on your side. Good luck to you.

Casey,

Much of my shooting is wildlife. For years I have used the Canon 7d with the Canon 100-400(4.5-5.6) and the Canon 70-200 (2.8). I do not use tele extenders. Most of my shooting is hand held. I have very been satisfied with this set up.

Bought the 7D Mark II about two months ago. As fine as a work horse the old 7D was, the 7d Mark II is a clear up grade...go for it.

Good shooting
