Since I'm a newbie here, I'm trying out the photo gallery posting section to see what happens!
Licking his chops, Indigo Bunting, Male 2-3 years? Molting? Hainesport, NJ 8/8/2015. A friend of mine and I watched this guy, first in the distance in a shaded area, and then as he gradually moved toward us, eventually perching in a sunny area where this photo was taken. Since this was my first photo of an Indigo Bunting, I was pretty excited! I did wish for prettier surroundings, but the bird itself is pretty cool to see on its own. On the computer, I noticed that the color, instead of indigo, was more of an azure on much of the body with some dark blue/indigo shade on the face. At first I thought the sun had brightened/altered its coloring. But according to one photo I saw, the azure color is typical for a second year male, so Im guessing this guy is between his second and third year. Thanks, Mike!
Mike has anyone considered adding a "Sections list" link to the top of the page?
Den
Mike,
Thank you for that.
Based upon the replies so far, it seems I should make a little document and paste them in!
Or is all this info available via the Help link?

Hi, Den, and welcome to UHH.
The software used to run this forum has a routine that automatically resizes images to a maximum width of 400 pixels...
Hi, Steve,
Thanks for the useful info. I didn't realize this site was so rich with content. That's very nice to know.

Hey Den, welcome to the forum.
As a hint, it's easier to use the links at the top of the screen than rely on the Digest.
- And in case you don't know, there are more sections here than the ones you see.

Thanks for that all-important tip, Mike! Ill be sure to use that in the future!

Welcome, Den. You will learn a lot here on The Hog.
If you click on "quote reply", we'll know which post you are responding to. That becomes important on some of the multi-page threads. Someone had to teach me that early on!
OK. And how can I delete a duplicate post? :?:
Thanks, Mac.
Is that something I should do now?
Thanks! Earnest, was it? :-)
Thank you! I noticed that the resolution/detail was significantly reduced.
Should I upload the file differently somehow to improve that?
