Will give the two hundred-will a check or money order do?
Shone,
It all depends on how much money you want to spend to begin. You can purchase a used Nikon such as a D200 or D300 for about 2to 3 hundred dollars and have an excellent camera to start with. You will find a lot of sites on the internet. Costco has some great package deals and for the price you cannot go far wrong. I bought my grandaughter a D5500 and she loves it. I have a D7100 and it just comes down to money and what you want to do.

dsiner,
I forgot to mention that if you are going to any of the islands get an Alaska Credit Card-with the card you will be able to take someone with you for only a $100 (companion fare) and you get free baggage.
If this is your first trip and you want to take pictures by all means to to Kauai. The islands are all different but you will find the "Garden Island" the best as far as scenery goes. I always take my camera and an extra lens as you will be absolutely amazed by the scenery. If you take the boat trip to the Na Pali coast it is well worth the cost and you will be in awe of the scenery. I do not understand the comments about not taking camera gear.
Blessings Brother and have a great trip on whatever island you visit.
A Chamois skin works great.
I will give $500 for the lens.

I believe that is a linticular compass.
I recently purchased a Epson ET4550 and it does an excellent job and makes very nice prints in a variety of sizes. The advantage is that it is one of the new printers that does not us cartridges but you just buy ink in pint bottles at a very low cost. Ink no longer is an expense and I am saving at least $150/month at home. The printer is more expensive to buy but when I can purchase ink by the pint for only $12 on line it just makes sense.
1 and 12
That is a great price. Where did you get it?
I am looking for a lens to do portraits. Thanks!
Thanks a bunch for all of the expert information.
What is the best lens (50mm) for my D7100?
Costco sells the Nikon D7100 with 2 lens and some other goodies. I have on of the cameras and it is awsome and all you will ever need for any kind of photography. It is available in the store or by mail and it is in your price range.
I had the same problem and solved it with a portable hard drive which has its own power supply and can hold a ter/bite and the battery will last for the whole trip. 3x4" and sold by HP and very light, maybe 4-5 oz. Works for me and if you shoot more than it's capacity I'll be surprised.
Cost is actually less than FD"s.
