I'm excited only to the fact that I go after the previous model as the new one get announced. My current 5D MkII I got after the Mark III was available. I've learned to live one step behind and get great pricing on the older model. Can I justify that much money or do I really need 50MP, well NO. So I am now looking forward to a great deal on a MarkIII if one comes along.

FYI....
My 24-105 came with my 5D MkII and the serial number is clearly etched into the silver metal lens mount just below the gold contacts. The date code is a little harder to see but it is in the center black, 180 degrees from the gold contacts.
The area is high dollar apartments/condominiums. They've done this every year since they were built. Merry Christmas.
Just received my 16-35 4.0 and it is tack sharp. you can see the difference between the 2.8 and 4.0 with the 4.0 winning out. If you don't need the 2.8 and since the 4.0 comes with IS, choose the 4.0. It even costs less.
My 2 cents. The 4.0 is a great lens.
My Favorite is my Canon A1, almost 35 years old. Purchased in 1980.
Special thanks to everyone for their kind comments and welcomes. Looking forward to the many opinions and expertise this quorum provides.
Hello, I have been 'lurking' for awhile and thought it was time to join.
Been shooting for a long time and right now I use Canon; 5D mkII and 50D.
I came up through the AE-1, A-1 and New F1. Started EOS with the EOS3 which I still have and use.
