For those that use a favorite camera,how old is it and do you plan on keeping it for some time to come or are you planning to upgrade soon??

10 year old Canon 1DS and no plans to change at all Neubee
Back up 12 years old Canon 10D and no intentions of changing that either

No intentions to replace for a couple of years. I'll likely just add lenses. 7-14, 40-150, 300

5 years, it's my current shooter. My Canon 5dll, and it has never skipped a beat, rain, shine, fog or ocean spray. I'll put its pics up against ANYBODY!!!!

Canon 5D MK III which I've had for 4 or 5 years now. It's all the FF I could ask for. I also own the 7D which I will probably update to the 7D MK II someday. Of course that upgrade may have to compete with the release of the Canon 100-400mm L series II lens. On the other hand, if they price it at $2K or above, I'll probably pass.

I love my Nikon D2X, about 10 years old, which I use in the studio. My backup camera is a D300, and it is better for low light or action, but I just like the feel of the D2X better. I am looking at going to a D7100 for even better low light and higher MPs. I don't see going to full frame as I would have to get some new lenses, and I would need two of them so I have a backup. The next time I upgrade my computers, I will have to give up the D2X as the Nikon Capture for it isn't supported by newer computers (which really pisses me off at Nikon).

Only 45 years old (new in 1969), shutter and meter still accurate, I'll probably keep it awhile.

My favorite is almost five years old and isn't a DSLR. It's a Nikon P7100 advanced point & shoot. The new version of this camera is the P7800 witch costs about the same as my P7100 back in 2011. Iso, bracketing, white balance ect. are right at my fingertips on top of the camera and even has a vu finder (although it does only 80% coverage)and the sharpness of the photo's is still good, even by today's standards.

Minolta Maxxum 7000i. Purchased new shortly after I retired from the Air Force in 1988. That makes it 26 years old. Don't shoot much film anymore but, it still a great camera. It had a spot meter before Nikon's competing 8008s came out.

I think my favorite camera has to always be the next one I'm dreaming about... I've really enjoyed a D5200 and a changing assortment of lenses over the last year and a half. Upgrade will be D7100, it's replacement or if I go full frame, the D750. I really like the articulated LCD, makes it much easier for weird angle shots. I'm glad to see more cameras have them in addition to viewfinders.

My 1 1/2 year old Nikon D5200 is my favorite DSLR. I don't plan on replacing it any time soon. My favorite compact camera is a one year old Nikon P7800, and I don't plan on replacing it any time soon either.

1971 Nikon FTN. (43 years) This camera helped me learn how to take photos and created a long term hobby. I won't part with it even though I no longer use it. I keep it clean with all of its lenses. I still use a couple of the lenses. (manual one the newer digital cameras)

I have a Nikon Coolpix P510, does all I need to do. I had a different camera and dropped it. My neighbor gave me the 510. It's just a baby, about 2. He said it was a great excuse to upgrade to a D7100.
