My father left it to me and Ill keep it until I die then Ill pass it on to my kids.
That camera should last forever!

If it hadn't been stolen years ago, it would still be an Asahi Pentax that I bought in the service in 1969, 35mm, 55 Super Takumar lens.
Sorry to hear you had one stolen. I had two stolen, KM & K1000SE cameras, a Luna Pro Meter, and a rare smc-Pentax-K f/2.8 30mm lens, and a smc-Pentax-M f/1.7 50mm lens.
7D Mark II I've had it 10 days.

I'm kinda new here as a member but I've been a long-time lurker and while I know it may be perceived as impertinent but I just gotta ask, what is the purpose of this thread, what is it accomplishing, and why would anyone serious about photography want to participate in it beyond an opportunity to make the point of "mine's bigger than yours?" Who benefits from this discussion?
Once and a while we like to reminisce and talk to each other.
Maybe yours is bigger than mine?

For those that use a favorite camera, how old is it and do you plan on keeping it for some time to come or are you planning to upgrade soon??
1959 black Nikon F - until i die. still use it at least 10 times a month. never had any problems other than light seal and mirror foam replacement.
I haven't decided as of yet, wife and i try to outdo each other. Lately i have been using "MFT" cameras. Give me another 6 months and check again..
I'm not very sentimental about keeping cameras and parted ways with my favorite camera, the
Mamiya RB67 20 years ago.
That camera weighed 6 lbs, had a non-instant return mirror, separate shutter/mirror cocking and film advance levers. It made me slow down and think about what I was shooting (with 10 or 20 frames to a roll, you want to be careful).
Some of the images in my portfolio were done with an RB. (link below)
Still, another photographer and I used them hand-held to shoot high school football back in the '70s for a daily we used to work for. That big negative was so forgiving.
I've had my favorite camera, a 7D Mark II, for about 2 hours.

My favorite is an 8x10 portrait camera, circa 1900. Hasn't been used in about 10 years, but it is by far my favorite. Somehow, I ended up with 2 more D-70s recently, that I plan on donating to a worthy kid, I recently destroyed my D-200 which I dearly loved, so now I just have my D-7000 from about 2 years ago, and D-7100 from about a month ago. I feel so...... up to date! (for once)

Depressing, isn't it. That's why, every time I reach that point, I take the TLR or the FM2n out for a few shots. Maybe some day, I'll sell my car and whatever else I have to in order to buy a custom roll of film for my Kodak Autographic 3A and really get hyped. Of course, I'll have to borrow a friend's darkroom, but as I've said, "I love the smell of stop bath (vinegar) in the morning."
