At the risk of this heading towards the attic the USA has the most bizarre system of government and v****g of anything I have seen. You guys have no right to criticize another system of government when yours is so bad (leaving aside a few c*******t types). Although I too would like to see their rationalisation for a decision like this.

I more or less agree with you. And I am an USA American. F*****t Dictators are the worst.

The following still lifes are arrangements of items from my days as a chemist. The first four images are arrangements of brass weights that were pleasant to my eye. The last two are arrangements of volumetric flasks and a pycnometer which chemists use. The two volumetric flasks each are designed to hold exactly 1 milliliter of a fluid. The most commonlv-used volumetric flasks range in capacity form 25-ml to 2000-ml. These are unusual because of their very small volume.

The unusual looking flask with a thermometer sticking out the top with a little covered side arm is a pycnometer use to measure the specific gravity (density) of fluids.

Fantastic. Love 'em. I can relate. I've used similar weights in Chem Classes and at Work. I have seen Specific Gravity devices like that but never used one. Cool stuff. I used to have at home some old lab equipment with similar weights but I eventually gave them away.

Can this photo be saved without the lines?

How was this created? Triple film exposure? Fabric, bubble wrap over a portrait.

Below is a photo -- there are two aspects of the cassette and pencil relationship. Can you name them?

I'm 69. I know the answers. Let's not ruin it for the under 30s. In any case I have a CD or LP version of that album. A nice compilation at that. Are there UHH'ers under 30?

Yes, most is automated. A program probably parses posts for certain contents then moves as required.

Why do folks complain about posting a photo in the wrong section, when the new primary listing comes up with the sections mixed in the first place? Sure one can filter down to a specific section if they want to, but why criticize someone for posting in the wrong section when the start page is mixed up anyway? I guess some folks just aren't happy unless they have something to complain about!

OCD; Ego; Bored; Control Freak; etc. Take your pick. After all Admin moves things at will anyway. I am sure much of the reposting is automated. I can't imagine any Administrator finding all the url links in firt posts on a topic.

As posted last week, I had to reinstall Win 11 and recover all my settings, data and apps. At this point I believe full recovery and restore are 95% complete. My mouse has been a bit erratic, so I visited Win 11 mouse settings. I played with a few settings for a couple of days, but the behavior was still slow and erratic. About 15 minutes ago I decided to DUH - CHANGE THE BATTERIES! I had erroneously assumed the reinstallation of the OS was the cause of the weird behavior. Voila!! Think simple first!

I have an excuse I can use - I just had my 87th birthday last week. Thinking simply is not automatic!!
My mouse and I wish you a wonderful day!

I hate battery powered Mice and Keyboards. I've used them in the past but they are erratic and crap out at the least opportune time. Mine are USB wired to my DELL towers.

Note: Zappa never used profanity. He left that to interpretation. He kicked Lowell George out of his band for his continued use of profanity.

Now that you bring that up, Zappa was careful and sneaky about talking about nasty or naughty things. Certainly not out front about using open profanity like Metallica or Tool.
