The Sony RX10 IV or RX10 III are considered by many to be the best available bridge camera right now. Both have a larger sensor than the FX300. Quite expensive, but can be obtained used or "open box." The image quality will be better with the Sony, but you'd have to decide for yourself if it is worth the price difference.

Any experience with purchasing used equipment from MPB Camera? Is this a reliable source?

Another great used equipment vendor is Used Photo Pro. The parent company is Roberts, also great for new gear.

Enjoy,

A few of us still live for Jimmy Cobb's break and symbol crash leading into the first solo on "So What."

For a first mirrorless, it's hard to beat the Canon M50 II with two zoom kit lenses. Very easy to get up and running right away and the menu system seems simpler and cleaner than many of the alternatives. If you're lucky enough to find one on the Canon refurb site, all the better.

This is great! I've visited Chicago many times from my home in the Twin Cities and love both this inside look at this beautiful cemetery, as well as your other recent look at the Chicago lakefront in winter. Thanks for posting!

Have you noticed that there are a lot of young, bald men? When I was a kid, it seemed like only old men went bald. Of course, being a kid, anyone over 18 could have been considered old. Seriously, though, I don't remember seeing so many young men with shiny heads. Is it something in the water.

Please avoid political comments so we can keep this out of The Attic.

Glossophobia is the fear of speaking, and it generally ranks #1 in fears, even surpassing the fear of death.

And here I thought glossophobia was the fear of printing photos!

I agree about having the host send invites with each participant being required to click on a link to enter the meeting. That alone should take care of the problem.

I've been tracking a package since Dec 15.  It arrived in CA via International Bridge.  Then it continued in CA via Pitney Bowes.  I received it today, and I have no idea what it is.  I have no record of buying anything around that time.  It's a soft pink cloth measuring about 7" square. I was concerned about those black "things" on the edge. Bugs? Bacteria? No, just pieces of black thread.

It's obviously from China, but the return address is in Jamaica, NY. Weird? Yeah, I'd say so.

Have you ordered any photo equipment recently? Looks soft enough to be some kind of computer screen, lens, camera cloth that might have been sent separately from a photo equipment or computer order. Guitar or ukulele orders might also have some kind of extra cloth.

Beginning Photographer with limited budget ($1,000.00) who wants to move from point and shoot to camera for more control over resulting images. Have narrowed search to Nikon D5600 per weight and features BUT Nikon’s discontinuing its D5600 production (and its total workforce by 30% per restrictions placed by Japanese government). So, D5600 camera I ordered with two lenses in November 2020 may never be delivered. Nikon D7500 is too bulky, heavy for me; making videos is not my main focus. Taking classroom online instruction via Zoom with specific weekly assignments. How advise me: find D5600 now, stick with my Fujifilm EXR 660 point and shoot or do something else? Thanks!

Help on shutter??
Hey guys I come for help, just an Amateur! I got the New Fuji xs -10 for Christmas!! I love the picture quality, it’s outstanding!! But here’s my question - I took pictures of my wife opening her gifts and where she moved her hands fast, her movements were blurry! I tried both the Auto mode and the Aperture setting but her quick hand movements were blurred! I then tried the shutter and set the speed at 250th and I was alright as long as I let the built in flash charge up! I needed to snap the pictures faster, but had to wait on the flash to charge!! If I didn’t wait on the flash, the pictures were completely dark!! What should I do or what do I need? Thanks for taking the time and listening Lee Roman!!!!

I have a Nikon 5200 camera. I need some reasons why I should buy or not a new camera or just get lenses for the 5200.

I currently take pictures infrequently, but am interested in doing it more often. Should I keep my camera and shoot more often or buy a new one to make sure I do. I am interested in getting a good telephoto lens for the 5200, but wonder if that is wise. Please offer suggestions and reasons. I would appreciate your thoughts. Thank you.

Richard

The suggestion of joining a camera club is very good. Another idea would be to take a photo class, perhaps one of the photo classes online. Having specific "assignments" and executing them, in other words getting out and shooting a lot with the gear you already have, would be the best thing you could do to regenerate interest.
