I'm glad they were not squashed. Many people would put an end to them.
I've opened one of the cells with a hacksaw. There were sparks & a black goo oozed out. There didn't seem to be smaller cells inside the cell - it just looked like the one cell.

Each cell is 3.7V making a total of 7.4V. There could be 3 smaller cells in each of the cells. I'll have to investigate further by opening one up.
They are 48.5mm long x 18mm in diameter.
Close.They're slightly longer and have a diameter that's larger than an AA battery.
