I sold my Nikon D750 and have been eyeing over new camera. I was not interested in a mirrorless camera and while the new Nikon D850 seems to be all the rage as of late, I could not justify spending $2500+, photography is a hobby and I am not a professional. So, I have been bidding my time and finally the deal I was looking for dropped into my lap. The owner of a local camera shop called and informed me he had just acquired a mint condition Nikon D810 with less than 5000 shots in the box. (Actual count is 4738). I went and checked out the camera and you would never know this Nikon D810 was not brand new out of the box. After shooting some photos was amazed. When compared to my Nikon D750, the camera is heaver, shoots quieter, image clarity and color are far superior. I am very happy. The Nikon D810 may not be the Nikon D850 but for me, it is a winner.

I agree. I picked up a used D810 last spring and love it. Unlike you I was moving up from a D7200 so I need full frame lenses. I managed to acguire the holy trinity of 2.8. All Tamron, couldn't afford the Nikkor versions. The pic I posted recently of the cicada was taken with the 70-200. And congratulation's.

I bought a D810 about four years ago in preparation for a night sky workshop. It served perfectly for that and continues to serve for a lot of other things. The smooth, quiet shutter is in its own league. Just for fun, I have set it to square format and shot all day with my 18 - 200mm DX Nikkor zoom with beautiful results, proving that you don't have to use just the "best" lenses. If you do, of course, the results can be stunning.

After the workshop, I bought a D850, mostly to have a second body and not to have to change lenses in the dark, which is just too dangerous. While I've come to like the D850 control layout a little better, and while the extra resolution helps a little with resolving individual stars, the truth is that you really can't tell which photograph came from which camera.

I have found that battery/vertical grips are very helpful to me in managing the size and weight of the D810. If you decide that's for you, my strong recommendation is to find a nice used Nikon grip. They are usually around $200 or so. Third party grips are a lot of times problematic at fully integrating with this very complex camera.

Have fun with your D810. I have no plans ever to get rid of mine.

From the headline I assumed this was about the results of a class-action lawsuit involving healthcare.

I spoze they were paid of to avoid them complaining to health authorities about the unsanitary conditions of the facility ?
