Enjoyed them all, but found #3 especially provocative with the cloud form resembling the crashing wave.
I have used the Expodisc to set the light balance before photographing high school basketball games in a gym and have had good results. I also take an incident light reading and use that to set manual exposure and take a few check shots during warmups. That system has worked well for me.
Very nicely done. I was impressed with the first view but found I liked the smaller falls or cascades even more.
I grew up in a small town (pop. of 257) and now live in a town twice that size. These decaying, by-passed communities are interesting photography subjects, often in B&W as you've shown, and if you can live with going to a larger town for necessities, a great place to live and retire as property values are frequently quite manageable, and the residents are often eager to see newcomers.
Your image is a portrait of a stage in life of a small town, nicely done.
The name seems very appropriate and your images justify the name. Nice job :-)
You found a LOT of waterfalls and I bet you had a great time as well. It must be a great joy for a photographer to have Mt. Rainier nearby.
blacks2 - - those deserve to be on a wall but I'd have a hard time picking just one.
Terrific picture Bob. Makes me wonder how large of a mural could be made of it - - perhaps a portion of wall and then spending some time just sitting and viewing it. Nice job !
Old barns are irresistible to me. There are not only great photography subjects but also interesting as relics of history and the technology of a former time as revealed in their structure.
very interesting history and views of Lightning Ridge. There are probably a lot of stories waiting to be told or photographed of many small, off-the-main-road settlements.
Hi Sue, Isn't it great when you find some subjects that give you an idea and then it all comes together like you want it to. Good work !
Thanks for the smiles and chuckles
The monsoon rainy season is in full gallop in the Upper Midwest with record floods of record duration, failed levees and saturated fields. So when we had a spell of sunshine a few evenings past, we ventured along some waterways in hopes finding a few wood ducks. No luck with the wood ducks, but there was a nice sunset from a refuge boat landing where the trees were now much closer to the water.
The weather does seem to make the image. Only one blue sky day, a few 'partly cloudy' and the rest mostly overcast with or without precip. A nice selection of images.
The joys of Christmas are due to Easter
