Awesome shot! Arizona is also a "Big Sky" country; the B&W really emphasizes the towering cloud. That said, last night on Lester Holt news, Al Roker showed some amazing footage of a tornado at dusk swirling along with lightning flashing through it and deep blue sky in the background. Hope some brave still photographer got a shot of that on his 5D or D850...

Thanks, ELNikkor. We can definitely fill the sky with stormy stuff.

Thanks Bob for another spectacular black and white photo of clouds and terrain. Very nice the way the somewhat, for lack of a better analogy, S curve of the clouds forms close to the viewer.

My only and infinitesimal small nit is the small plant in the lower left hand corner. Perhaps I am the only one but I find it distracting from the Grand scene presented in front of it.

Thanks, Dennis. As for the plant, I thought about that for some time before deciding to include it in the frame. In a way it gave me the impression of looking towards the sky and hoping for some rain. One of those, "can I have some water" moments.

bleirer, thanks for stopping by and commenting. No, not a 4x5 this time. A full frame Nikon.

So there is hope for digital. I was noticing the sharp focus in the foreground, made me wonder.

I've got faith in digital. However, I'm also working on coupling my digital and my 4x5. That should prove interesting.

The sharp focus in the foreground is the result of the DOF provided by a 20mm lens at f/16,

Nice work! The cloud formation coming in from the lower right and moving toward the center almost looks like a hand with fingers...interesting!
