"autofocus" got me started yesterday looking at my old Ferrari photos and his and then I went on the internet and found the latest Ferrari for sale. I didn't want anyone to miss out in case you didn't know about it. It's just a little over two million so you may have to sell a couple of unused camera bodies. For me it's a toss-up. Ferrari...Miata Ferrari...Miata Ferrari...Miata I'm gonna go with the Miata and keep my R6 II.

YES, love the looks of this...well, mostly. Not sure of that vented rear end look, and let's face it, rear ends are important! However, you found some really terrific shots of them Ray! As they say, it might not buy happiness, but a huge supply of cash would buy a few of these, and help one deal with their sadness!

Funny you mention blue and France racing. While it was actually the sponsor's color scheme the Ford GT-40's were blue with orange trim to represent the Gulf Oil Co. It was noted by American media that the French color won the French race (Le Mans) on an American made race car. Regardless, winning Le Mans is a huge affair and the French celebrated enormously. Racing breeds strange bedfellows.

Gulf's colors on a GT here: (at 40 inches ground to roof, the GT40 sat a little lower than the GT)

Ironic, isn't it that the color of money has seldom been a color used on American race cars. In European racing circles racing teams used a "national color" on their cars. ie, Italian teams used red, British teams used green, etc. For some reason American teams tended to shun the color green completely but have favored red, blue, or white as primary colors.

well, I can remember as a kid going to the local stock car races and green was considered a jinxed color, and maybe that was the norm back then. Speaking of team colors you might want to notice the color on many of the early Bugatti's from the 20's and early 30's, French Racing Team Blue was the common color, and kind of a robin's egg blue. I liked it on Bugatti's but when Ford used a similar color on Mustangs I really disliked it.

Beautiful cars and I thought that only British sport and touring cars were painted green!

thanks streetrodder, I suppose when you are paying the outrageous price to buy these cars new you can have them painted almost any color. I know that's true for Morgan's, but not sure of Ferrari.

On a very Happy Mother's Day we went to our daughter and son-in-law's house for the day. They live on 2.5 acres of open space. Took a stroll and found some wild lilacs with some friends sniffing around.

These are close ups and not true macros. Using a Z9 and 24-70.

Not sure how reliable this specs are:
Curb Weight - 3,647 lbs.
Engine - 6.2L - 495 HP
0-60 - 2.8 sec.
1/4 mile - 11.2 secs - 122 MPH
Top Speed - 184 MPH
Mileage - 15/27 MPG

Don

The specs are probably accurate being this, the race car model, that shared it's small block flat plane crank engine ultimately with it's street version, the Z06. And, the Z06 is capable of those performance figures. Nice pics Don!

This is an old tin-covered wooden grain elevator in the little Kansas ghost town of Elmer. Captured on film in 2000. I haven't been there for several years now so don't know if it still exists.

it'll take more than 4 wheel drive to pull that baby out...however, I'd be willing to help the girls out!
