lbrandt, thanks for stopping by. Not familiar with Canon G1. Was that a PHD camera?

This photo is of an art installation at our local art museum, that I took hand held and was amazed at how much of the wordage was readable.
This photo was take back in 2005 with my first digital camera, a 4MP Nikon Coolpix E4300 (F2.8, 8.0mm, 1/142, ISO 100) I wasn't about ready to give up my world of Olympus SLR Film Gear. It took about 3 months and I realized digital was the way to go....and I slowly went.

This shot did it for me, Canon G1, 2003, think they are up to G16 now.

I guess I'm the stupid one then as I drag and drop all the time. If I'm doing it to back up, of course I double check that the file has landed in the correct place.

Personally I'm more scared of cut/paste as the file disappears temporarily.

I have not read all the threads, as they become ridiculous, but I am stupid too, I drag and drop to an external HD, have a Mac, make sure they got there, have Time Machine going, then take that external drive to my best friend, swap it with the one I store at his house and come home and do it all over again in a couple of weeks/month.

By making the photo contests submissions taken only during current times you have created intended and unintended consequences. You have tried to make people go out and shoot more = good. The photos on the whole are of lesser quality and fewer entries then when photographers could submit from their archives = bad. I feel you should take a vote to see what type of photo contests the HOG readers would prefer.

My post was not intended to depict a factual event; rather, I found it interesting and perhaps a good subject to bring up and stimulate some light chit-chat... and so it did! As far as SNOPES, there are many Internet sites that also discredit its "fact checking" and t***hfulness. Who do you believe?

Bull, you bought it hook line and sinker, you gave it no thought and liked the way it sounded and passed it on.

Did you check this out before you posted, if its on the Internet, it is not necessarily true, be more diligent, I have not read other posts or researched it myself, but bet its not true.

Baseball cap in public, subtract 10 IQ points.

you are full of crap, wearing it that way and getting it out of the way to shoot a shot is different.

After reading other post's, I have changed my mind. Aperture priority first, then manual, etc. Or even whatever the user feels happiest with.

Know I am a broken record but, Manual had it's place, do not think it does today except for panoramics. I think aperture is the most important thing in most shots. I know you are going to say with BIF, shutter speed is most important, isn't that controlled by aperture (and iso) also. When we can look at a sample shot, we can make adjustments, which to me is Manual. I look at a shot the highlights are blown out, I adjust a stop. Guess I am saying that Aperture priority is Manual minus a time consuming step.

Yup, I got bounced today for not reading the rules right, my fault, re-submitted.

Sometimes the categories are vague, I didn't figure out what 100 Steps was about.

Anyway, I appreciate the opportunity to show another picture.

They are really good.

Just wanted to post this. I have been rejected several times in their weekly contest, and every time it has been my fault, but, I get irritated thinking I was right, after researching the rules, it is always my fault. Before you fire off a reply, and I have been guilty, and had to eat crow, look at the guidelines, these guys are working hard and are not perfect and they do the best they can. Larry
