I have started using the strap from CSLR and find it extremely comfortable and I like the fact that I can keep the tripod mount fitted all the time along with the hand strap ( the tripod mount is compatible with Manfrotto and Swiss Arc)
As far as the debate regarding using the tripod mount I used it for 3 months traveling in Central Asia under some very arduos conditions and have not had even a minor problem (I have checked the mount several times) with the black rapid connection to the swiss arc plate Only fault was that the shoulder strap became uncomfortable after 6 hrs or more of on the go (The CSLR strap shoulder pad is VERY comfortable)
Just my pennys worth

every now and then, and only when on this site, UHH, I get voices that sound like they are on some form of TV show. They stop when I either leave the site or go to another subject on the site (but then start again)

What's happening and how do I stop them

Hi,
having a recent 'sort out" of some of my equipment I came across these lenses
Tokina 19-35mm f1:3.5-4.5 77mm
SigmaAPO DG 70-300 f1:4-5.6 58mm
Sigma UC Zoom 70-210 f1:4-5.6 52mm
All with Pentax K mounts
any chance/possibility/usefullness on my Canon 5DMk111?
open to any suggestions

I have used the black rapid strap that you are talking about and used it for 4 months on an overland trip through Turkey to Beijing
I never had a concern and i had a 5Dmk111 with the 24-105 lens attached
only hassle was when I wanted to use the tripod
I have since changed to a Custom SLR fitting and strap and this enable me to fit the whole lot on the tripod using either a Manfrotto quick release or the other standard mounting (can't remember the type)
I have found the CSLR system to be very comfortable and i like the way the camera is balanced
Definetly worth a look at

I was there last Christmas 2012 and had no problem with my Canon 5D Mk111 and the 24-105 lens any where on the site restrictions on flashes though in some of the exhibit's
Then again you might have a problem with a Nikonn

Could somebody please explain to me the difference (beside price) of a kit lens and a normal lens
To me they appear to be the same thing especially with Canon L series lenses but are always listed as cheaper

Hi everyone,
My wife has just surprised me telling me that we are going back to Hawaii in Sept this year, we are going to the the big island where the volcanoes are for 3 days. We will have our own hire car and would like some tips as to what to see.
I have said that I would like to do the scenic helicopter flight along the shore line and hope that someone out there can give a few tips as to the best choice of companies etc Also the tours of the volcanoes at night
We visited Oahu last Christmas and stayed at Turtle Bay for a week and thoroughly enjoyed that (with trips to all the usual sites)
I am taking my 5DMk111 along with a choice of lenses and would appreciate some recommendations as to what would possibly be appropriate
After Hawaii off to Tahiti and Bora Bora thence NZ and then home (cruising)

Thanks in advance
Bob

Sorry should have been Custom SLR
They have since contacted me and offered a further discount on the items I ordered because their website was giving out the wrong information  have said they will be "fulfilling" the order this week :)

Given where I live there is not great deal of choice for equipment suppliers
so I tend to do a lot on line. I have had great dealings with B&H who were just simply fantastic with price and delivery
I have recently tried DSLR on line for a few items said they were in stock and placed an order, credit card charged and told would be notified when shipping.
After several days no notification and have had to send emails and messages on facebook to get a reply "sorry out of stock will ship next week when stock arrives also cannot track O/S orders with UPS"
Anyone else dealt with them?
