Here are some shots taken a couple of weeks ago in the SNWF just north of Savannah, GA in SC. Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed just being there.

Hi, My name is Roger and I live in Savannah. I have a small exhibit (12 prints) at Moon River on the corner of Whitaker and Bay St. I am there almost every day between 5 and 6 pm. If you don't have time to chat or stay in Savannah for a few days, I recommend the following: Bonaventure Cemetery, River St., Jones St., Forsyth Park and side streets off the park. The park is bordered by Drayton and Whitaker. Bull St. runs from north to south and will take you directly to the park. This is also a great street to walk. Good luck with your trip. My email address

Yes, it is a trillium. That ranger should know better. Gorgeous shots, love the phlox. You are so lucky to be in such a beautiful place!!

Indeed it is beautiful here -- but you're in a beautiful place yourself.

Agree regarding Lady and Sons. We went there for lunch and discovered what other told us . . . .. overrated.

Thanks. My wife and I have already agreed that Lady and Sons is too "touristy" for us - we like local, Mom & Pop places if we can find them.

[quote=EarthArts]I also believe it is a Trillium called "Toad Shade" native to Tennessee. Below is a link for a photo of one that looks a lot like yours.

Spot on! Again, thanks.

Nice images. Are you positive about the ID of #2 ? Doesn't look like a Jack-in-the-Pulpit.

EarthArts - I did some research on this plant and it looks like a Trillium, based on the Univ. of TN database. So much for what the ranger said! Thanks for letting me know.

I'm not a plant person, but a ranger in the area identified it as that. He also said there were about 7 varieties of Jack in the Pulpit in this area. I did notice about two different types and both had varigated leaves.

Oops, forgot the restaurants. . . . in downtown Savannah, two places we had a great time and wonderful food were the Moon River Brewing Company and the Six Pence Pub. Both were crowded and reservations were necessary.

Thanks, Frank. I'm sure after a long day of shooting a pub would be in order.

Hello, all -- I'm doing a photoshoot in the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge late in April and I'm looking for recommendations on other places to shoot nearby as well as for some restaurant recommendations. Many thanks for any help you can give.
