It looks just as nice on your EOS,...I just like the compactness of how it feels and looks let alone knowing the optics deliver every time,....definitely not cumbersome.
Using it at smaller apertures it's excellent as a quick point and shoot as well.
What I'd call a sleeper,.....I don't see the pancake lens mentioned often.
It price was an attractive consolation too.
Wishing you good light.

The pancake lens has a nice slim profile when used handheld and has a f2 aperture.
I selected the Voigtlander Ultron 40mm f/2, aspherical with Nikon mounting which is chipped to allow adjusting the lens aperture & ISO easly thru the viewfinder.
I have found it especially convenient shooting night sky,...the one I received when at hard stop infinity focus renders the stars tack sharp eliminating magnified focusing on a brightest star in the sky.
I shoot manual mode, the sharpness has been exceptional in all use.
It also takes 52mm size filters that I often use.

Dust on your sensor,.....have someone show you how to properly clean and blow out w/ a squeeze blower,.... followed by a close in inspection via zooming in and scanning left to right, up and down while zoomed in via viewing your rear camera screen. This may require more than one cleaning till you gain proficiency.
This is a common experience and remidy and part of the ongoing maintenance when owning a digital camera with interchangable lenses, rather than paying a shop or sending the camera off to the manufacturer be done.

Using compressed air improperly can damage the sensor w/ freeze stains,..I reccomend the large air squeeze bulb like the Giottos Rocket-Air or similar.

Switch to film,......that'll cure the problem......lol

Only kidding,.....it is easy to overshoot shooting digital.
If you have a particular need or desire to shoot less, maybe a smaller media card in the camera can serve as a suitable deterrent?

I dumped lightroom within 30 minutes of installing it,...its features just didn't appeal to my personal workflow.
I instead use photoshop which handles all my RAW files and its features have the identical adobe engine.

I shoot all primarily old glass on my DSLR,...have weeded out which lenses do not perform and am more that pleased what I can achieve.
I have never use auto focus on any of my cameras over the years and shoot all manual settings as I did when I first become interested in photography.
It's not a pet peeve,..just the pure enjoyment of me telling the camera/lens what to do rather than vica versa.
I pride myself applying what I learned from years ago,...relearning for automation's sake is not of interest.
If I err during a shoot I have myself only to blame, either I know what I'm doing or I don't,...the basics sufice above and beyond and meet all my expectations IMHO.
Shooting landscape, scenic and nature primarily in manual provides ample opportunity to apply various mechanical settings to suit the desired resul I'm looking for,...this confidence has been learned and earned since my1961 beginings.
I admire though those who are proficient with the AI in all its various new technology aspects and apply it masterfully,....it's just doesn't fulfill my hands on methodoligy.
Shooting digital is as close to new tecnology as I caret to venture since I love to the post processing experience,...my techie fix extent.
Thanks if you read this,....it is not a rant,...honest.

Living in down east Maine, theres many deer crossing the roads ...have had many close calls,..9 out of ten time there's more than one deer crossing the road,..I'll always wait a several seconds before proceeding, others frequently meander onto the roadway that lag behind.

Have only had two incidents involving car damage,.......they hit the car,...blindsided me both times,..... other close calls. I found that blowing the horn sometimes makes the deer leap out of the car's path,...not fool proof though,...have had some deer freeze in place instead.
Some places here have so many frequencies of deer that I even blow my horn just passing thru,..... even if I see no deer,....never know if there's any preventitive value in that practice????
We have moose as well but are seldom around,...and that's the rub,...you can get lax,...high beams and open awareness seem to be the best practice,...no garantees!!!!
One area I vist for deer photo opportunities is pretty thickly populated,...those living there regularly feed them in their backyards,..they become tame to an extent and feel safe returning on a regular basis. My few best white tail pics were shot at that location.

Good morning. I appreciate this tribute to lost seaman from the standpoint of a former sailor in the U.S. Navy. On the sea, unexpected, unplanned things happen. The sea remains a wild place, risky to traverse. Thanks for sharing a picture of this monument.

Where we live this monument was a long time coming for the same reasons you mention.
It is especially difficult for the families and loved ones at this time of the year who live this loss.
For the many fishermen who venture out daily in fair weather or frigid icy conditions this real threat is unmentioned and unspoken yet felt subconsciously each and every working day eeking out a living on the unpredictable and strong tidal waters found here.
I can only imagine the experience of spending such long periods at sea not knowing the outcome of any given day while at the same time longing to return to port and awaiting family and friends.
Hard working and resourceful are the fishermen who provide and bring food to the tables of everyday people who have no idea or inkling where their food comes from or what unknowns are involved.
Thanks for your input "anotherview" and for your words that I'm sure are tangible to many who have or do live such lives.
Happy New year

Nice!! I like the use of the Memorial to frame the Lighthouse; it ties the 2 together creating a story.

Dodie

Thanks Dodie;
I took this last evening following a light snow here in Lubec.
Several compositions were taken,...this was my favorite.
The composition required two raw exposures,.....one focused and exposed for the lighthouse highlights and a second focused and exposed for open shadows on the monument. Each were processed individually as required in Adobe Camera Raw,...then brought into photoshop as individual layers and combined, aligned and then processed as req'd using layer masks, adjustments and final sharpening for the desired result.
I had shot this two nights ago but the ground surrounding the monuments were cluttered with footprints, ice and clutter which detracted from the image.
A tripod was used to maintain alignment in the frames during focusing.
My work is all done on manual settings, am an old dinosaur having never used auto focusing or auto anything,....lol.
Thanks for your comments, appreciated.

Lost Fisherman's Memorial located in the small coastal fishing town of Lubec, Maine.
Its sculpture is a lasting tribute dedicated to the fishermen who have been lost at sea over the years while fishing in and around
the surrounding waters here. In the distance is Mulholland Point Lighthouse across Lubec Narrows on Campobello Island, New
Brunswick, Canada.
This work of sculptor Jesse Salisbury eulogizes in granite this memorial situated at the Lubec waterfront.
Thoughts and prayers go out to the families, friends and loved ones left behind.
Feel free to share.
