Is this a cloth cover on a frame ???

It looks like the plastic film they use on RC model aircraft. Very interesting subject.

I tried video taping our church service (for the first time) yesterday. I accidentally left the camera plate at home for the quick release on my tripod so I couldn't use it. I did have my monopod which worked OK. After viewing my video, my wife was surprised at the clarity, but said the techniques of the videographer left a lot to be desired. One of the problems I had was working the zoom with the external microphone attached (I have some arthritis in my hands and I'm missing a couple of fingers). I just ordered a zoom lever (a lever that is on a strap that fastens over the zoom adjustment ring). I hope it helps and should be here before Easter.

Hope you find your missing fingers.
My hands are starting to lock up and I use 3 pairs of glasses. So I just set the camera on "P" and have fun. Good luck with the handle.
Post some pictures.

I would like to hear from anyone who has experience with the Sony Alpha NEX-3, or 5 line of cameras.
I just bought a NEX-5 and am amazed at what you can do with it, but hearing from others would be a help.

Well you did say that hearing from others would be a help.
So now you have heard from someone, but I can't offer any help.
But welcome to the group.

Post some photographs from your new gear.

Tell me you didn't crop.
If you did, did you crop the copy.

Need to pull back a bit. Give her some jumping room.
Nice picture, thanks for sharing.

A stop at a local camera store I happen to notice lots of lens for film camera.
Is there a way that a lens for a film camera could work on a DSLR?

You want C&C on a snap shot that is focus is on the girls nether regions? REALLY????

Hey that's my dog and my friend.
The dog is on the left side of the picture.

Never said it was fine art, just a picture.
You can just pass on any future posting form me.
Not everyone is an artist like you are.
I do enjoy your work. But you can pass on viewing anything from me form now on.
Good by.

it doesn't matter if you dog is in the shot or not, the focal point of this image is the young ladies neither regions, not her face, not her arm, not her leg, the focus clearly is her crotch.

Your posts are strange, asking for C&C on this image, to say the least, is crazy. I will no longer be reading your posts or looking at your images, I think you need therapy or at least a "real" friend in your life to talk to. You seem to crave attention, an internet forum really isn't the place for that.

I ask for hard C&C on all my postings. As far as therapy is concern, could you put a good word in with your doctor!
Gee we could have been friends, but you were to quick to judge me. Wow...

I think this thread is an example of the continue thread of folks that seem to post that they're fed up with the way they're treated on this forum, and then leave.

I will say that my initial reaction was probably the same. Although, that's because I'm a dirty old man and I think that way. However, it was innocent enough and just because something can be taken in a dirty way, doesn't meant that it MUST be interpreted that way every time.
I think people need to lighten up on their interpretation. To me, this was just a personality study. There was a can of soda, a person lying back, possibly exhausted, or just resting and enjoying looking up at the sky; and then a little dog by her side.
I didn't interpret it as being "deep" with a theme.
Lets not be so critical of other people's motives and concentrate on the photography itself; I'm not even sure that the artsy part of it can be all that critical, as art is in the eye of the beholder. The artsy side is a bit more subjective.
I'd like to see C&C concentrating on composition, exposure, richness of color (or not), contrast, placement of people and/or objects in the frame.
And I'd also like to see people grow up and have a little thicker skin when it comes to criticism. If you ask for C&C, then don't get so upset when you receive comments.
If you're just sharing a photo, then people that want to be critical, shouldn't bother looking if they know they're going to be tempted to be critical when it's not asked for.
I think this thread is an example of the continue ... (show quote)

I'm not upset with the C&C, I just posted a photograph of a pal with my dog sitting next to her. That was it, no sexual intent ever cross my mind.
The lady has a right to hate me, yes I'm not a artist like she thinks she is. I'm happy that others enjoy her work. I will miss her C&C, but that is how folks are here.
I have no plans on leaving anytime soon. There is a lot to learn here, if she does not want to help me, I will learn from someone else.

Dust spots.
When I use my Canon’s kit lens (EFS 18-55mm) I always end up with at lease one spot.
The spot does not show with my other lens. I use one of those Rocket blowers on it and the lens glass is clean. But still that one spot is always there. The sensor has been cleaned and the shutter, inside of the camera appears clean.
The camera is more then 10 years old and has about 100,000 miles on it (4 trips to the Philippines). So maybe time for a new lens or send the kit lens in for a complete cleaning by Canon?

Thank you

On cropping

I did read English Wolfs comments on cropping. But while it is my playing field, it seems right some times and so wrong then next.
A lot of my photographs are from my train club. This place has become a junk pile. Not to mention stuff leaning this way or that. So I rotate the main subject of the photograph and end up cropping to cut out the junk.
I wonder if I’m not chopping too much? The photographs are really only for me and a few friends who are into trains.
Your thoughts are most welcome

Believe it or not, some of the Army branches go out to B&H Video and Photography for their equipment purchases, but so far all we have used has been Canon equipment. 5D Mark 2 and 3, along with the canon HD PX300 video recording equipment. That is just listing a couple of, but the list goes on.

Welcome to the group.
You will learn a lot around here.
