Your vote will not make an iota of difference. Only the names will be changed.
Do you honestly think that one will be better than the other? HAH! Fat chance, they're all owned by the $$$!
Once in office all promises made by the 'electee' to the populace are null and void; only promises made to their owners are honored. If you think this is BS, hide and wait.
Am I cynical? Realistic? A right winged leftist? A left wing conservative? An independent mud-slinger? Maybe yes, maybe no, maybe maybe.
I am Sick and Tired of lables and rhetoric.
If you're mis-informed how are you going to know?
If all the major new services are lying, who do you believe?

I've found the best time for a rain dance is right after you feel the first drops. Is that cheating?

There's a lot of related stuff on You Tube if you look. I don't know the URLs but they aren't hard to find.

Good idea.
I'll go out an' sit in that ol' rocker on the back porch with a cat in my lap and watch the grass grow and let time go by.

Everybody who feels a need can argue over what wags their tongues as long as I don't have to listen to them blabberin'.
Dammit, why don't they learn something about stuff before opening that pie hole? Seem like with a lot of 'em, the less they know the louder they get.

Have you read the bible or just the parts that you like? There's a lot in there they refuse to teach in bible schools.

I am not sure of that... I have read the bible and it says to kill the homosexual. It also says to be with like minded people and to not even eat with homosexuals. That sounds kind of discriminating to me.

Leviticus 20:13 NIV

" 'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

1 Corinthians 5

9I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral peopleĀ— 10not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.

If all the reasons for killing someone in the Bible were rigorously applied, we'd solve the population problem overnight. I suspect the passages you cited amount to cherry-picking. Otherwise, why not kill for all the other reasons outlined in the Bible?

Me:
The Law which Leviticus is part of was given to the Theocracy of Israel. II Cor. 3:11 indicates that the Law has been done away and replaced by liberty found in Christ. We are now in the Age of Grace governed by the Law of Christ. The moral code of The Ten Commandments is included in the Law of Christ.

The law is the law. Jesus came to for fill the law, not to change it... remember? That means homosexuality is just as wrong and deserving of death but god allows them to repent and ask forgiveness of their sin or face gods wrath later (more harsh than Sodom and Gomorrah). Still, till they repent, Christians are not to associate with such people. That is the christian way if you believe the bible to be the word of god.

Emanuel Won't Act To Block Chick-fil-A

The effort of Chicago Ald. Joe Moreno (1st) to block a Chick-fil-A from entering his Northwest Side ward because the restaurant president is against gay marriage seemed to have the support Wednesday of Mayor Rahm Emanuel. However, Emanuel may be backing off from the fight, and at the very least has clarified his position.

An Emanuel spokesman told the Sun-Times Thursday that, "The mayor simply said that Chic-fil-A's CEO does not share Chicago's values."

"He did not say he would block or play any role in the company operating a new restaurant here," the spokesman said.

On Wednesday, Emanuel said that, "Chick-fil-A's values are not Chicago values", adding "If you're gonna be part of the Chicago community you should reflect Chicago values."

Council members are usually given the privilege of turning away a business they don't want in their ward. However, Moreno's explicitly stated reason for opposing Chick-fil-A could lead to a lawsuit.

LOL Sarge, as if the mayor can not create a multitude of permitting issues for CFA that would make the prospect fruitless, and of course that would never happen in Chitown world renown for its clean politics and political structure...

Legal redress? Governments love the courts, they have no problem spending taxpayer dollars to punish any who would seek redress against their overreach... It personally costs politicians and bureaucrats nothing to put citizens and businesses through muti-year long lawsuits that drain the private individuals or businesses of their hard earned cash while costing the government officials nothing, after all it is taxpayer monies that they are spending.

And the government uses this to it's advantage. You can't fight city hall.

You should watch it. It is a fantasy, with some unsettling twists in the plot throughout. Some people think it deserves an award but, unfortunately for the principle players, the only organization considering it for an award is Comic-Con.

Where are all the liberals in this thread? This is like shooting fish in a barrel

I mention the boycotts to illustrate the point that comments, actions or statements made in public have consequences. I made no attempt to justify anyone's actions only that the argument is valid on both sides.

The argument is valid on both sides as far as talking about citizens expressing themselves, just as it is the right of the CEO to express his belief. He did not keep people from coming to his business. It is suppression of free speech when a governmental body tries to exert its power, or threaten to, as a reaction to free speech. So, yes, the citizens have the right to take their business elsewhere; no the mayors do not have the right to threaten withholding of permits or whatever.
