Thank you very much.
Yea the Nik products are really nice and pretty easy to use.

Yes, I've tried curves and I've even swapped out channels but so far I like Silver Efex the best. There are a ton of presets that are all pretty good and then there is even film stock that you can pick. You have a lot of ability to change areas, for instance, you can decide to underexpose the sky and using the brush paint in just that portion of the sky and continue on with the rest of the photo however you want. Nik offers control points, which I love.
Then there are a lot of filters/toner you can add, Selenium being one or Sepia, Coffee, Cyan all to varying degrees.
I've gotten pretty decent results out of Capture NX2 as well but still not as good as Silver Efex. I haven't tried Lightroom yet other than just some normal PP stuff.

Thanks.
I'm a big fan of the Selenium tone filter.
I used to use that toner all the time
back in the old dark room days. LOL.

What should be done to share raw pictures after pp? Files are very large, around 25 MB. And best way to share lots of them?!

Hi, there are a couple of ways to do it.
I am assuming you have already processed your RAW files.
If you have a Flkr account you can just save your files as Jpegs and then upload them to your account and then email your friends the URL address.

A lot of the PP software, Lightroom, NX2, ViewNX2 have Slideshow features where you can create a slide show of the selected photos and then email it to your friends.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.
I highly recommend taking a trip to Moab and Dead Horse point.
For movie buffs it was where the final scene of Thelma and Louise was filmed. Besides that the Moab area, Canyon Lands and Dead Horse point have some amazing hiking and biking trails.

Hi, thanks for all the replies.
New Mexico is a beautiful state and really
lends itself to photography as does a lot of the southwest.
I think its that beautiful blue sky and clean air.

Hi, thanks for the comments.
I'm still kind of feeling my way around the d7100.
I used Topaz De noise on the night shot and I think Topaz worked great.
I bought a used 16-85mm nikon lens and am having some issues with it. I noticed them after I got back from Tucson and processed my pics. Seems to be a "blurring" or very, very soft focus on the left side in the 16 to 24mm. range.
I'm going to post some pics later asking for help or opinions.
thanks again.

If I'm looking at the right spot I think its just the natural coloring
and shading of the fur.
Those are 2 nice images and INMO your worrying about something that is natural and on the animal. Its not a flaw in your camera or lens.
If it bothers you a lot you could clone them out in Photoshop but
again, INMO, great shots and its not needed.
