What causes these little lines?

These shots would be just fine if it weren't for the lines running against the grain of fur on the deer's neck. I don't notice it on the face, just on the neck. They run cross ways in the white area & a bit further down on the neck. Except for a slight crop on the right side, there was no pp. This bugs me. Any help/ info would be appreciated. All shots were jpeg. I didn't want to spend all night working with raw. I've been experimenting with raw but it takes me forever to pp. & they don't seem to turn out as well. I'll check to see if the lines are on them also.

No. I'm referring to the fine lines going cross ways on the neck. You have to look closely to see it. They go the opposite direction from the hairs on the neck.

Maybe you could place some arrows to point them out.

All I see is white whiskers.

No. They are too evenly spaced for that. It looks like an extra fine point pencil. Could it be my monitor?

Crop in on the spot at least.

They are below the whiskers & on the neck starting at the white & extending on down to the end of the photo.

See the revised photo above. Red arrows point to whiskers.

I think I see what you're talking about but would describe it more as optical illusion. I only see it at certain magnifications and not at all when I save your download and view it on Photoshop. It completely goes away when you zoom in on the area.

You got very good captures with those two shots. I wouldn't over analyze too much.

No faint lines showing for me either. Just a couple of soft slightly gray areas that look like fine lint on your lens. I had a camera with that except it was worse and in between two lens elements. Had to go to the factory and cost me about $200 with shipping.

They actually show up better uncropped. I'm wondering about my monitor. I'm going to see if it shows up on the one at the library.

I don't see it, but hope you figure it out. Cheers. S-
