I was at that same competition and also only had one in the top ten of one of the categories. Sorry I didn't get to talk to you (or did I?).
Molly Isaacs was very good and I enjoyed all three of her talks. Lots of information there and much to think about.

You might want to check out the hahnel Giga T Pro II, which is a wireless remote control, and also is a programmable Interval Timer, if you plan on ever doing any time-lapse stuff.

But I'm afraid I've worn out my welcome with him, though. He flies off now almost as soon as I show up. Must recognize the blue KY cap.

I already broke off a big chunk of retirement money and got one!
The improvements to the autofocus system were well worth it to me for what I'm trying to shoot (BIF at the moment.)

New poster here. Been shooting since the mid 60s, spelunking in Southern Indiana pit caves, dragging the camera along in a foam-lined ammo box and using those big glass flashbulbs good for one shot.
