Those shots look great. Nice variety.
Cool shots, great closeups.
There is a button at the bottom of your tools palate that goes into quick mask mode, make sure that is not turned on.
I'm guessing two things.
One is that you are using a wide area focus and it focused on the plants closest to you, if that was your intention, use the lowest F stop to blur out the background so that the flowers in front stand out more.
Solution is to use spot focus, you will see a series of dots in your viewfinder and you can set your focus point to anywhere in the viewfinder using your thumb button.
Two, as pointed out earlier, to get everything in focus use the highest F stop (best with a tripod).
I filled it up to thin and now I see two solo cups. Is that an oxymoron?
if it's just for the computer screen, You can pretty much use the smallest sized .jpg and it will be fine. The reason I say this is that if you shoot the largest size or RAW, you will have to make the image smaller to see it all on the screen.
If you plan to crop, shoot at a larger size and all will look good on your monitor in the end.
I shoot in RAW + the smallest .jpg, this way I can slideshow it quickly with windows picture and fax viewer.
Stunning results. I'm with robertperry, care to share your technique?
Thanks for the share
I forget to unplug the cable and then when I go to get the camera for an outing the battery is dead.
I just use the SD reader and forget the card is plugged into it and when I go out for an outing there is no card in the camera. (I now carry a spare card in the remote pocket)
It's all personal preference.
I think your only option at this point is a new clean install of Vista.
Pretty sure you have a virus of some sort.
You can try downloading Avast (antivirus) and doing a scan, but if it keeps re-booting the problem may not be found.
Save what you need to DVD or thumb drive and start over clean.
BTW, I always remove the card from the camera to get the images off and then delete them before placing the card in the camera, doesn't hurt anything.
Very nice series. You know by the looks on their faces that they have been there. They put their lives on the line for our freedom.
About space used, an empty formatted SD card starts off with about 33 KB of space used for the File Allocation Table(FAT32).
If you create a folder on the SD card the space used is now about 64 KB.
With that logic, you can create lots of folders and still take as many shots as without the folders. Each folder can contain 999 images, after that Nikon will create a new folder for the next 999 images.
I have a Nikon D5000 and it lets you create folders on the SD card itself. Folder names are limited to 5 chars and with creative naming should be OK. When shooting you just select the active folder and that's where your shots go. You can also add comments to your photos as Jim S stated. I just found out about this handy feature.
Ditto on the sunscreen, I lived in Hawaii for ten years and have seen to many people ruin it on the first because of no sun screen.
Also, theft is a huge problem. Never leave any valuables in your car, even if you can see it from the beach.
Follow that advice and you will one of the best times of your life.
The orange one is a shrimp plant, the last one is a hanging heliconia, I lived on Oahu for 8 years and miss the flowers and food. Florida is nice but just not as tropical.
