Dumb Question? I have a Sony A77ii and an Alpha 6300 (wife uses sometimes) and I use both extensively, for travel and for fun depending on what mode of transportation and where I travel to. Going to Europe I mainly take the 6300 and here in the states I'll take the A77. I have the kit lens 16-50 and 18-55 respectively and both are really great lenses (imho) but would like more width for interior photos. I don't always travel with both cameras but that being said, I'm not wanting to purchase two W/A lenses but still want the flexibility of one lens for both.
Since they are both are APS-C I wonder if there were any pros/cons of a single lens for different mounts (other than adapters). I have the LA-EA3 and use it for some older legacy Alpha & Minolta lenses and my Sony SAL 70400G for the 6300. Looking at purchasing a 10-18/20mm Zoom or a 12mm Prime, manual focus not a problem....Budget <$500. I know, I know, what am I doing with two different mounts...
Thanks again and any comments or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Great shot, beautiful...was he on the railing of your porch?
A little out of focus, I can hardly make out the French Fries
Cold, well cool, in Indian River Country Florida this morning since cold front passed through last night and decided to go to one of our natural areas to see if anyone was up. Scrub Jays were out looking for a handout as usual. Delicate little birds who seem to have no fear of humans, no matter where you find them, and no wonder they're protected. Thought I'd post a couple of pictures of them....the chicken, just for fun, found him wandering around in an area adjacent to the wetlands I was headed to, unfortunately it was closed for maintenance. PS, sorry about the bottle, the chicken was behind a fence and just standing there, thought he was a handsome rooster
I also don't h**e Adobe, I personally choose 'Not' to go to a subscription service, not because I don't like LR6, which I currently have, but because I don't NEED to go to a subscription service to meet my own personal needs. I have actually found other programs the meet my all requirements. Many, especially professionals, do require a professional program like Adobe for their livelihood/businesses and what works for them, more power to them. But on the other hand, the 'Subscription-Based Service' is a Cash Cow for business; Microsoft, Disney, Adobe are afloat in cash with this business model....and many other companies are headed that way.
Its always the bottom line and if it weren't, businesses would fold....and I hope Adobe users won't be too upset that their 'bottom line' is down one less customer 🙂🙂 ...and it has nothing to do with not understanding Capitalism, Intellectual Property Rights or 'Owning' their own software. Anyone in business understands the bottom line...a successful business person that is
Beautiful, no wonder Scotland is now considered one of the most beautiful countries in the world....heading there next April/May, had to cancel this September Scotland trip due to hurricanes in FL, just couldn't leave.

Beautiful, don't you just love the photographic opportunities in that area....along with the Geologists
dmeyer, lovely, absolutely beautiful photos and shows why Teton has so much beauty to offer....I visited in the winter a year ago and can relate to many of those same pictures totally covered in snow and ice covered water.
Sorry for the repetitive URL....
Larry, here's a site that gives a detailed comparison between the two....Both are excellent cameras and either can't go wrong. I own the Sony 6300 and love it. Haven't tried the Fuji but it also looks impressive. No doubt you're getting an information overload but when it comes down to it, both are awesome cameras and its personal preference for a particular brand, if any.
