Good morning all!

I currently own the Nikon D5100. What should I get next? It’s time.

Thanks,
Edna

What features are you looking for that the 5100 doesn't provide?

Don't aim too low. Buying used or refurbished can save you money. The D5600 would be the obvious answer, but how about a D7200? Look at some comparison sites.

Read comparisons and specs, and decide what features are important to you.

Help us help you. What kind of shots do you want to take? What limitations have you seen with your D5100? Any budget constraints? Do you have existing lenses you want to use? Are you considering new or used? Lots of experience here, but the more info you can provide, the more useful the recommendations will likely be.

I’m really quite happy with it. I was at Photo Expo last week in NYC and drooled at the Nikon booth looking at their display. Do I need WiFi?

We travel often to exotic places and I love doing photos of people. I also do gardens and landscapes. I have Nikon lenses - 18 - 140 on my camera, 70 - 300, and a 60. Contemplating getting the 18 -300 as an all purpose.

I could be wrong, but I think most newer models come with it. That said, I almost never use mine, but then I don't post directly to the internet which is what I think most use it for - if this is important, then yes, you need it.

Not many people would post a pic from that quality of camera without seeing it on a bigger screen. That said you can use the wifi to download and my guess there will be more and more remote devices that use it.

No argument here. Like I said, I don't use the wifi very often - I transfer my shots to the computer via the SD card, and then process before posting. The one instance where I did use wifi was upgrading the camera's firmware, but I could also have done that via a cable attached to the computer...

Stuff that, Blaster34. Go for the H6D-100c. Now, that's going all out.

Fortunately, I'm pretty immune to GAS. If I purchase something it's because what it does is absolutely needed and the current equipment won't accomplish what I need to do. I haven't even seen the D-850 in person yet. Have little interest in getting one, due to the fact that the D-800e does everything I need, and quite well I may add.
