Here's a nice chart that explains NIKON lens compatability and NIKON terms in grey over in the right side.

Just sitting here at work with too much time on my hands thinking. No camera to try it.

If I take three or so bracketed images with my camera and use the "Create Photomerge" function in PSE, will it stack the three images and give me a HDR image ?????

Yes, I think that maybe rules were meant to be broken.

But first you should know the rules and practice them so that you know the reason that you creatively deviate from them...........

The "real deal" NIKON remote is cheap enough if you didn't get a true NIKON product.

If you are worried about aftermarket vs. OEM and want to by cheaper, try B&H's used online department or KEH.

I have bought from Amazon, B&H, and Adorama online and have always been pleased. I just ordered a NIKON P7100 as a present and got a great price, free second day shipping and no sales tax. What's better than that !! Of course the State of Rhode Island thinks that I should fill out forms and mail them a check for 7% !!! Ha.............

Hello iresq,

I have about 40,000 images 0n two computers and this is what works for me:

I am using Windows XP. I file all my images in "My Pictures" Some photogaphers begin their file name with the date or year. I don't. I use the subject matter for a folder name. For instance Gloucester, MA., Lighthouses, Grandkids, Boats, Infa Red projsects, Experiments, Cars, Girlfriend (name), Camping trips. Family Events.

Under Gloucester, I might have a folder for doorways, harbor shots, boats, people etc.

Under Grandkids, I might have a folder for Tyler, one for Ryan, one for Trey.

Under Boats, I might have sail boats, motorboats, boats shows.

Under Girlfriend (name) I might have each trip such as Cape May 2009, Cape Cod 2010. Kayaking.

NOW what if I wanted to file pictures of a cool boat shot in Gloucester Mass. I would copy it to my "Gloucester Mass" folder and also copy it to my "Boats" folder. If I had it filed by date as some people do, I would never remember when I shot it and would be going through folders year by year. However, all I have to do is look in my "Boats" folder or know where I shot it and go to my "Gloucester, Mass" folder.

Under Family Events, you might have Easter 2009, Easter 2010, Easter 2011, Christmas 2009, Christmas 3010, Christmas 2011. All of your Christmas pictures will appear together one after the other automatically by date in your "Family Events" folder. If you want that silly picture of Aunt Emma with a carrot in her ear, all you have to know it was taken on Easter and you don't have far to look !! All your Easter folders are right together. Windows will sort/file them that way for you.

If I am emptying an SD card, ( you know how images stay there for ever !!) I may highlight all the grandkids images and copy them to the grandskids folder and then go back later and drag all of the Tylers to his folder and all the Ryans to his. You could even do Tyler 2009, Tyler 2010, Tyler 2011 if you want to.

But, at least when I want a image of that lighthouse in Gloucester, I know it will be in the Gloucester folder and/or in the "Lighthouses" folder. I don't have to remember what year it was shot and then going trought folders by year.

This will work well for you with the relatively small amount of images you have. And you don't have to buy any programs or worry about compatability or crashing.

Regards, Gary

Hello Uncle wiggley !!! You must have camped at Fisherman's Memorial State Campground. We have camped there several times also and love it there. It is a great place to put our kayaks in and we have gotten fresh fish right off the boats there also. Great fried clams at Aunt Carries and also Champlan's.

Re: The mansions....Not allowing pictures to be taken inside the various rooms any more. I was asked to stop photographing last Christmas. Added security I guess. Too many valuable antiques. And they don't want photos used to "case the joint"

Hello and Happy Holidays from Rhode Island. My name is Gary and I have had an interest in photography since I was 12 or 13. I still have some of the pictures I took with my Kodak Brownie some 50+ years ago. My first SLR was a Miranda F with the std lens and a 135mm for portraits, bought back in the mid 1960's.

I now own a P7000, D70 w/SB600, and a recently acquired used D200. I have a PB-5 Bellows, but haven't found the time to start using it. I think that I will try some Infared with a Hoya R52 and may eventually have my D70 converted.

Right now finding time to shoot is challenging. That is changing somewhat do to a new partner in my life who shares my interest in photography................ Stay tuned !!!
