I'm sure that you have blown $30 on worse things. Go get them an play..............
Worse case scenerio, you cam throw them on Craigs List for $30 each or two for $50 !!!
For the amount of room a 2x Teleconverter takes in your bag... For God sakes take it, and give it a try. So, you may have to manual focus. You'll find out when you get there or when you put the lens on and begin to shoot. Better to have it with you, than not and wish that you had not left it behind.........
Well thanks for letting me know where it's going. I'm glad it will go to a young lady that will put it to good use learning photography with good equipment. AND I'm sure she has a fine teacher to guide her along her way.
I was originally looking at the 5100 but majority of the folks were saying go the 7000 route.
decisions decisions....LOL[/quote]
I don't believe in the majorityof the folks spending my money for me !!!
I have bought alot of little things on impulse !! But before I plunked down $750+ I would know what I wanted to do with it. MUST BE NICE !!!

Final offer..............
What is it (subjects) that you like to shoot ?? How far from them will you be ??
Do you really need the 500mm ??
Do you have the 100mm to 150mm range covered with another lens or will you be leaving a gap ??
So, does that mean if you were shooting through a car window, your camera is going to focus on the glass window directly in front of you and NOT the scene beyond ??
begmon's post about shooting a scene in a beautyshop setting and including the subjects in the mirror posed this question in my mind:
When shooting into a mirror, where does the camera focus if you want the subjects sharp. If you are using AF, does the lens focus on the image plane of the glass ?? or the reflected image 5 feet beyond ?? In other words, If the subject is 5 feet in front of the glass. Do you focus for 5 feet or manual focus for that distance plus another 5 feet ??
Contests should be judged by a professional, with no names under the photos until after judging. You can always have an "exhibitor's favorite" and/or a vote for "guests favorite"
wildflower62, Not everyone can afford to spend big money for lenses. Go ahead and buy and inexpensive glass on Ebay and have some fun with it. Post up some pix and show us some images............
AVarley, I have just begun with PSElements v9. Can you explain in a little more detail how you make a signature "brush file"
Thanks in advance, Gary
