You made a good choice, the butte and the Milky Way made a great shot👍 I wonder if we camped on the same dirt road. I remember we stopped to look at a large panel of Indian art near the start of the road. The darkest skies I’ve ever seen. M31 was obvious naked eye and no camera ☹️
Beautiful job 👍👍👍 I was in the area of Goblin Valley about 5 years ago. We had spent the day hiking Little Wild Horse and Bell Canyons. That night we camped at the end of a long dirt road about 15 miles from Goblin Valley, the stars were incredible and I had burned through my camera battery no backup and no way to recharge ☹️
Nice set! You have to be quick getting your shot because they don't stay put very long, flitting about erratically is their specialty. I've ended up with plenty of empty frames!
I've got to try star trails next time I'm in dark sky country! Most nights here in CT I struggle to see enough stars to find the major constellations so long exposures, more than 20-30 seconds just get washed out. Nice job!
