I put out a feeder and it must be slim pickin's because there is so much traffic at the feeder I have to fill it at least once a day.
Like shooting fish in a barrel, if the fish could fly and leave the barrel.

Pretty birds. East of the Rocky Mountains, we generally only have Ruby Throated Hummingbirds. I had on Rufus that must have been lost, several years ago.

Nice set! You have to be quick getting your shot because they don't stay put very long, flitting about erratically is their specialty. I've ended up with plenty of empty frames!

Doc,
My shutter speed on these shots were 1/1200 to 1/2000 sec., ISO was 800 at F9. I would have gone faster if it wasn't overcast.

Hey BigDale I use to have more misses than hits when I realized I couldn't keep up. Set up in the flight path between the birds and their food source and let them fly into your shot, it's easier than trying to chase them. They are way too quick. Also the less you move the closer they will get.

High ISO of 3200 to compensate for low light and high shutter speed
