I seriously doubt this is worth the repair cost. And if fixed for how long?

I have used after market batteries for years in a D7000, a D7200, a D810, a D850 and never had one fail or swell in my camera. That is an urban myth. Save yourself a lot of money

It happened to me, battery swelling.
I was practicing for the 2017 eclipse and was taking 10 exposures every 5 minutes, computer controlled with images plus, my way of bracketing. I knew at some point I would need a battery change. The camera was mounted on a AVX, tracking mount, polar aligned, so the camera couldn't be moved so I had to change the battery blind. I open door and my after market battery wouldn't come out. I had to remove the camera and with much difficulty removed the swollen battery.
Urban myth NO, and BTW, I live in the suburbs, lol. If that happened during the eclipse it would have really messed up my eclipse session.

What camera and age
Sounds like a lost as repairs will be expensive and I'm guessing no guarantee

What you say about recourse regarding PayPal friends and family is correct. Having said that, I have conducted all my transactions on UHH via PayPal friends and family (actually there was one check on a small item when seller did not have PayPal). Whether it is warranted or not (and I think it is) I tend to trust members of the UHH community more than I would if I were sending funds for transactions on another site. In addition to the savings of the 3% for the seller, PayPal does not collect 7% sales tax from me for the transaction of a used item. Perhaps someday I'll be stung, but so far so good.
What you say about recourse regarding PayPal frien... (show quote)

So your bragging on a public forum you're a tax cheat. So much for HONEST UHH members

You know, I got to see the the total eclipse in 2017 also. I need to look and see if I got the diamond ring at that one. I have so many saved files on so many drives, I need to do some hunting. Oh, and let me guess. A blown out disk?

Sorry I hurt your feelings, I've seen from my astronomy club a bunch of diamond rings. It's a delicate balance between the "money* shot and a blow out. I don't post process a lot but everyone has the right to process as they wish.
