These were not taken with an L lens. I was using a 18-200 EFS to test non image stabilization hand held at 80mm. The 24-70L I am thinking of getting is non IS. What I find interesting is the non IS image looks sharper

I am looking at the Canon 24-70 2.8L and wanted to test hand held without IS at 70mm. The image on the left is IS turned off, right is on. The image without IS (left) looks a little sharper than the one with IS on. What do you think?

Let the props spin!! The frozen props look like the plane is just sitting there. The moving props show that something is happening.

The "pop" is a photoshop technique I learned from someone here on UHH.
Image>adjustments>levels, in cs4 in levels there is a pull down menu with the option "midtones darker" then adjust brightness and contrast to taste. Try it you'll like it.

Nice clear shots... Just my opinion, too much background above the head is not part of the story. I like a tighter crop, a little more contrast, a little sharpening and color. My preference is to have the head in the top third of the frame. Keep shooting and enjoy the zoo.

I am using a1:2.8 f=28mm lens, manual adapters and canonT3 .I tried the long and short tubes seperate and together, they are Canon and # 1,2,and3.thx
Use a longer lens if you have one. The extension tubes will not increase magnification, they only allow for closer focusing.

I found a small scope at a yard sale $15.00 and of course want to attach my camera on it. Any suggestions? Canon Rebel XTI, scope is 60mm X 700mm focal length. I calculate it should be about f11.7 I would appreciate any recommendations or advice about my new toy.

I once saw an article on the Internet about a guy who created an size-reduction adapter out of a cardboard tube duct-taped onto the camera and a smaller one taped to the scope but I certainly wouldn't hang a dSLR on there. He was using a lightweight P&S with a small diameter lens. The results for birdwatching a mile away were awesome.

Google is a wonderful thing when it comes to researching these things!

I have a very small P&S that I could adapt. Thanks for the idea. If it works I will post

I like the additional color. I have taken pictures under that pier and they are dull compared to what I was feeling. The sound, the air, the spray, the wet feet cannot be captured in the camera. A little PP boost brings it to life.

Hate to say so but you wasted your money if you are planning on using that scope to take photos. I would't think of spending for a T-mount.
I think you are right. After pricing T-ring, T-adapter, star diagonal and barlow lens to put on this small scope I decided it will be just for enjoying the view. Thanks to everyone for the advice.

Thanks. This is actually a composite of two shots taken about five minutes apart. The moon: Canon SX20, ISO 80, 100mm (560 equiv on small sensor)
F7.1, 1/30. The whole scene: Canon Rebel XTI, ISO 100, 28mm, F5.6, 1/5.
To get enough reach for a sharp moon I don't get any foreground. To get foreground and therefore composition the moon was too small. COPY PASTE TO THE RESCUE.

I have been looking around town for a vantage spot for this shot. I like the juxtaposition of the new construction against the ancient moon. What do you think?
