I have been looking around town for a vantage spot for this shot. I like the juxtaposition of the new construction against the ancient moon. What do you think?
past and future, no present
First of all, nice shot! Her's a couple of mine Just can't reach out far enough with my Canon SX150IS. Will fix this problem with my next camera.

That is an AWESOME photo Russ. I bet that the construction company would love to see it, or maybe buy it. I know I would if it were my construction company. Simply beautiful.

Awesome picture! I've been trying to get good moon shots for a long time. Living near the city, it seems as though there's always a haze that doesn't allow me to get a crisp shot like yours.
May I ask what settings you used?
Thanks!
Thanks. This is actually a composite of two shots taken about five minutes apart. The moon: Canon SX20, ISO 80, 100mm (560 equiv on small sensor)
F7.1, 1/30. The whole scene: Canon Rebel XTI, ISO 100, 28mm, F5.6, 1/5.
To get enough reach for a sharp moon I don't get any foreground. To get foreground and therefore composition the moon was too small. COPY PASTE TO THE RESCUE.
I like it, looks mathematical
