I've always wanted to go there. Now I'll have to start making plans.

It happens. That’s business and life. You move on to something else like google photos or you could just stop using the web and computers entirely.

If it’s $3k for the tooth removal, implant, and crown, then you’ve got a bargain. I’ve had 3 and they ran a low of $2800 years ago to $4k to $3600 just recently.
I priced going abroad like to Costa Rica/mexico and while the cost was cheaper, adding the travel, hotel, food it wasn’t worth it.

No need for web site. Plenty of good suggestions here. I store all my photos on Google photos (some 30K). Its easy to create albums and share photos. People can also post photos to the albums as well. Its easy and its "FREE" (of course, who knows what Google is doing with all those photos of your kid's Lacrosse games - probably selling your information to some lacrosse stick manufacturer).

Tell them thank you kindly for the offer to work with you but its best that they work with somebody that they both feel confident in. Its their wedding and you don't want to be a source of conflict just as they are setting off on their life together.

I shoot my grandson's basketball games with a D5600 and a Nikkor 18-300 3.5-5.6 lens. I have my F-stop at the maximum (this lens is variable aperture), Focal lengths vary from 50mm to as high as 155mm depending on the shot. Shutter speed is set to 250 (this could be bumped higher but at this speed, I don't see much blurring) and Auto ISO. ISO will vary from 3500 to as high as 8000 which come out fine. I use Back-button focus with continuous auto focus, center spot metering, single point auto-focus. I shoot in RAW. I set white balance to cool-white but this gets changed in post-processing depending on the shot.
I'm generally pleased with the photos but could use a sharper lens. Next purchase.

I just did a few books using Shutterfly and experimented with some other like Amazon. Shutterfly's book editing software is very easy to work with and allows you a great deal of flexibility in the Advanced Editing mode. The Storyboard feature allows you to arrange your photos easily which allows you to focus on presentation separately. Splitting up these two workflows makes the process a lot smoother.

I have a Y520 but with 16GM RAM and it does it all the time in PhotoElements but it doesn't take seconds, more like 1/2 second.

Actually, it was coming out fine but looked odd, a little smudgy. I thought it was the printer screwing up again. That is until I touched the photo and smeared ink all over. Another humbling moment.

For my epson, the reason why I turn it off is because it may not print weeks. Sitting idle with the ink in the jets is apparently what causes the jets to clog. If the printer is being used frequently, then this won't happen and so leaving it on would be the way to go.

Another reason why I turn it off - habit. Just like with lights, phone, computer, etc., anything in any small way to conserve power which saves money and ulitmately, the environment.

I might also add to your comment about being disciplined on using the hardware:
insert the Ultra Glossy Photo paper with the glossy side up

Shocking what happens when you print on the wrong side. :-)

Regarding the photo that you posted where it goes from bright (on the left), into the shadows, I understood your question to be how best to expose for that shot. Its going to be tough given the light change. You might want to look into HDR (High Dynamic Range) or post processing to darken the highlights and lighten the shadows.

I have an Epson Workforce that I used to leave on all the time. After the printer got older, every time I went to print a color (and sometimes B&W) page, the printing came out terrible. Had to clean the heads, adjust, etc. On about the 3rd try, it would come it fine. Like you, I researched and Epson said to turn it off which I do now. Color prints, B&W come out fine.

Which bring up another point about printers and replacing printer cartridges. I've seen it cheaper to buy a new printer rather than replace ink cartridges. Isn't that sick? From now on, when I print, I go to Costco/Shutterfly/Somewhere else that's running a deal. Lot cheaper that way.

Shutterfly is having a deal on all sorts of printing. Here's one you might want to take advantage of: Pick 3 free: 250 4x4 or 4x6 prints,
two 8x10 prints and a 16x10 print.

My Christmas cards and prints are done for next year.
