My daughter gave me a lovely little bouquet of flowers for my birthday, which then doubled for an Easter centerpiece. Enjoyed photographing the flowers in different lighting and from different perspectives. I am interested in which image people like best and why! Thank you for viewing!!
All are beautiful captures, but i especially like the first wood duck image where he is staring you down and the beautiful bridges!
These first 6 photos are of LeClaire Park where lots of festivals are held. The first image shows the railing that is next to the Riverwalk sidewalk. The third is the Levee Inn, a little concession stand, that in years past has been flooded all the way up to the roof line!! The seventh image is of the lock and roller dam. And the last two images were taken through the glass. Watching the train move S L O W L Y through the flood water was fascinating … apparently takes a lot more water to keep them from running!
The Mighty Mississippi is flexing its muscles yet again! I took these photos on Tuesday when the river was 18.5' above flood stage, with more flooding expected throughout April due to the Minnesota snow melt still to come down river. Most of the aerial photos were taken up in the sky bridge from the open observation area, with a few taken through the glassed in walkway … these have some reflections from the glass but I still liked the shots for various reasons!
Thank you for your nice comments!
Curmudgeon, I agree .... Very fascinating, hard-working creature. This was just one of the many spiders that took up residence by my garage front lights! I sure hope they eat ALL the mosquitoes!!
Thank you Napabob. Very distinct markings ... I knew someone would know what variety is it!
