Not my favorite creatures, but your shot is very well done. Yikes!
Great picture. I almost lost my left foot to a brown recluse when I was 5. I hate spiders, but I've learned to coexist with them. As long as they're not dropping down from the ceiling and landing on my shoulder, I leave them alone. I did make the mistake one time in Missouri and stepped on a female grass spider. It was carrying young ones in her sack. Needless to say it gave birth and there had to be hundreds of them running around.
That's where the food tends to hang out, also. Good photograph.

How scary for you HotRod!! YOU have very good reasons to avoid spiders!! Due to increased vandalism in our city we have been leaving our front lights on all night instead of turning off at bedtime. This photo obviously is from this past summer. Keeping the lights on provided the spiders with a smorgasbord of insects, so we looked like we were farming BIG spiders!!!
Thanks Bob! Yep, we basically made a spider sanctuary out of our house by keeping the lights on.... We didnt have to decorate for Halloween!!

Love the picture, Christy, but hate the subject...LOL
Sometime I'll have to tell you the story of why I hate spiders...
it involves a new Christmas tree, and thousands of hairy little
spiders...
Tim
I think that this photo reminds everyone of specific memories that turned them against spiders!!!

Its definitely in the orb weaver family, looks like the garden variety to me, some also call it a barn spider!
Thank you Speeters! That doesnt sound poisonous ... I am sure they will be back this summer!
