I have a D7200 and use the Wifi to transfer only a handful of pics that I have taken that day to social media or messenger via my phone. It's not the fastest way. But, for only a handful, it gets the job done.

I can vouch for Cameta as being stand up with good customer service.

Back in January, I bought a refurbished D7200 package with a 55-300 4.5 lens for about $1K from Cameta and very pleased so far.

I bought a refurbished one back in January. While I am still learning I'm quite pleased.

Once again, thank you all. Every suggestion did not go unnoticed. I took the leap and bought a reburbished Nikon D7200 and a reburbished Nikkor AF-S 55-300 1:4.5-5.6 vr lens. Plus bag and other accesories for a little over $900 from Cameta. At tax time I hope to get a 2.8 lens for lower light situations. This has gotten me started.

Everyone, thank you so much. You all have been helpful. I have no problem go used/refurbished. Now I have to get out there and get may hands on them and see what works best.

As I said, and agree where the growth with the better lens is important.

Hi all. I have been researching on getting a decent camera while on a $1000 budget, totally out the door, not just a body. What I plan on using this for is sports (hockey, ice and field), nature and landscape, theater and lastly portrait. I want this to be a camera to be something we, as a family, can grow with. so not only is the camera is the main focus, so is lens. Some of the models I have been thinking about is the Nikon D5600, Canon EOS 6Ti. I'm not throwing out the Sony's either. The Nikon D7200 might be a reach if is significantly better.

So what say you photographic gurus?
