You may want to read this before jumping on the 200-500. It's a good, not great lens, and it has no dust/moisture sealing. For the money, the Tamron 150-600 G2 is a sharper lens, especially at 600 and wide open.

I use a Sigma Sport 150-600 on a D810, and have switched up with a friend who uses the Tamron G2 on a D800, and both of us find the G2 just as sharp as the Sigma at 600, and the G2 is sharper at shorter focal lengths compared to the Sigma.

If budget is a consideration, the Tamron will give you the best bang for the buck in a long lens suitable for the D850.

I own the D850 as well as the 200-500 Nikon. I also tried the 150-600 Tamron G2. I have not used the Sigma. I can state that without a doubt and I don't care what those reviews say the Tamron is not even close to the Nikon on the D850. You will love the 200-500

My First Posting, - After reading Posts about printers over the past couple of months, I have to ask if there is a way to 'Revive' an EPSON printer that has 'sat' between print jobs and now does not print with all colors. - This is my THIRD ONE! -
The First, was inherited from my artist Sister, so was destined for failure due to lack of use while she was sick
.
The Second one, I paid Full Price ($600.00), and I let it sit for too long between printing, & the same result!

The Third, is an Epson Stylus R-2000, (another$600.00), is also not wanting to print the Blue Ink after sitting for a couple of months.

So, - Does anyone know of a solution for #3 before it's too late? - Epson told me that it would be too costly to repair the Second one, hence, - #3!
I believe I could have spent all that money on HAVING photos printed at Costco or some reputable outfit, and been WAY ahead!

If you can revive this printer mak a habit of printing at least 1 4x6 print per week. It will solve you clogging issue. I have found the print quality of the Epson to be outstanding.

When I send a photo from Lightroom to Photoshop to edit, the picture comes back to Lightroom with colored boxes on the picture that aren't there in Photoshop (and shouldn't be there).

I usually save as tiff. I've tried saving in other formats but I still get the boxes of color. I even saved it to the hard drive and then imported it into Lightroom, but Lightroom adds the boxes to the image. I just upgraded Lightroom, Photoshop and the OS to Mojave (in that order).

I looked up how to go back to High Sierra; but I really don't know if that's the problem. I'll try using the older version of Lightroom first and go backwards from there.

If anyone knows what is causing this, I would love to know!

To be clear, at the risk of argument: the Nikon Holy Trinity is the 14-24mm 2.8, the 24-70mm 2.8, and the 70-200mm 2.8. While there are now different versions of two of those lenses; there are otherwise no personal substitutions.
It is what it is.

I will ad an Amen to that!

You cannot go wrong with the Holy Trinity

Nikkor 14-35 f/4.0
Tamron 24-70 G2 f/2.8
Tamron 70-200 G2 f/2.8

Peak Design Everyday Backpack for more fashion forward or Mindshift 25L for a more rugged solution.

That combination of the Holy Trinity may be a little lopsided

If I were to buy a d850 what nikkor, sigma or tamron lense would you suggest and why? I think I want fast lenses and at least one zoom. Does the nikkor 28 to 300 mm make the cut? Keep the total cost under $10,000. Please consider sharpness and edge falloff.
I have decided that I am not interested in wildlife photos so long telephotos are not required. Also suggest a backpack camera bag to carry all this.

I would stay with all Nikon Glass. I shoot the D850, the D5 and the new Z7 and have the 28-300. It is a good lens for walk around every day and not sure what you are going to encounter. It is not as sharp as the high end Nikon glass but is more than acceptable for the price. I have shot this lens all the way back to my D3 and still use it often. The 16-35 F4 is an outstanding lens and is tack sharp. Next I would add the 24-70 f2.8 vr. Then go with the 50mm 1.4 for a nice fast lens. Round it off with the 70-200 F2.8 E FL ED VR. This would cover about everything you want to shoot. The cost is right at 11000.00 for that set up so you may want to back something out of the mix. If you went with the 24-70 non VR that would trim 400 off the cost and is still a great high end lens. I shot that lens for years until the VR model came out and honestly the difference is insignificant. Also the 70-200 F2.8 G ED VR II shaves off another 700 which would get you just under 10000. I have shot the Tamron copies of the previous mentioned lenses and preferred the image quality of the Nikon's however a friend of mine uses the 70-200 Tamron and loves it. We have swapped compared argued etc. it just comes down to a matter of preference. I personally prefer the build quality of the Nikon's. Good luck whatever you decide. You will love the 850 which is where the high end glass works best

You are wrong. Not only did General Motors pay the government back, they paid interest and the paid off the loan early.

You need to quit drinking the Kool-Aid that the previous administration served. It is far from clear how GM and the Obama administration could honestly say, much less trumpet in prime time television ads, that GM repaid its TARP loans in any meaningful way. The reality is that GM got additional TARP billions from a Treasury escrow account filled with taxpayer dollars. Taxpayers have not been paid back “in full” and are still on the hook for the TARP stock investment in GM. Whether taxpayer funds are ultimately recovered depends upon the administration’s ability to sell GM stock at a profit some day. Of course, we all hope it works out that way, and it might. But, the American people deserve more than puffed-up press releases and misleading commercials claiming that GM paid its loans back to the government with money it earned. I recognize that one of the goals of the GM ad campaign is to build trust, but GM did it all wrong, apparently with some help from the administration. Shifting bailout money from GM debt to GM stock is not the same as repaying it. Stock is riskier than debt. Maybe it’s a good idea. Maybe it’s a step in the right direction, maybe not. Only time will tell. But, they should be clear with the American people about what happened here.

My sister's Windstar waited until just after the warranty expired for its transmission to go.

Are we in the twilight zone? The last Windstar was built in 2003. General motors was building garbage runs then as well. Remember the Chevy Astro that was a real engineering marvel

Must have been used and 30 years ago. When GM was going belly up and Chrysler wasn’t far behind it was we the taxpayers that bailed them out only to have their Exeutives take huge bonuses and never pay a dime back to the government. It was piss poor management and lackluster products that got them into the mess in the first place. Hats off to Ford for turning their products around and with their own money. Not ours!

To preface: I've been a Nikon guy for 12 years, pretty much exclusively. As you might guess, I'm heavily invested in Nikon gear...especially lensing. So the latest Z7's have caught my eye, and since I'm shopping for a mirrorless, logically I'm gravitating toward one that will handle my lenses. So I go to the pre-show a month or so ago...Nikon-Jesus and his disciples up front waving arms, showing dated video, and *letting* us poor peons line up and touch the new camera. That's it, though, cuz my XQD card had to stay in my pocket. That's right, they wouldn't let us take a few shots for later perusal on our 'puters (which is why I walked out without touching the grail). Other than the obvious condescending attitude of the speaker (don't recall his name, but he was a Nikon *dude*) the card thing really stuck in my craw. Well, OK then, time simmered me down a bit. Today I went back to the same store that hosted the Nikon "event" and asked if they had a new model I could play with a bit (Samy's Camera in Costa Mesa, CA). I was told that they had shipment in for pre-orders only...no demos. Huh? Really? It IS a religion! Faith heals and you have to buy your camera on faith too. Haha, after walking out I called a pro buddy in Illinois (a Canon guy, but not religious at all) and kinda laid out my gripe about how Nikon was handling the new camera situation. He's a level-headed sort (unlike this recovering Type A) and through some conversation, once again I felt better. But, really, when he told me a mutual friend from my area went down to a Canon dealer and they let him take a new mirrorless out of the store to test out (and, of course, keep the images on his card for later viewing)...haha...I'm kinda going, "...do I really want to stay with a company that is so insensitive to their clientele, and downright dumb marketing-wise, too? Well, short answer, yes kinda-maybe. But, boy, am I checking out Panasonic! End of rant. Again, better I am feeling ($1 to Yoda).

It is a shame that they would not let you try it I want to my local brick-and-mortar store yesterday with a memory card and tried the new camera Z7. They had several in stock and then downloaded the pictures and went back and purchase the camera. It is an amazing piece of equipment I hope you have the opportunity to try one and yes your F series lenses work incredibly well on the Z7.

You shouldn't sell to me anyway since my money would apparently put you out of business. And if you sold things at a ridiculous mark up I wouldn't buy from you anyway.

I wouldn’t sell to you because you are a weasel it has nothing to do with your money. As I stated in my past post you are type of customer that just likes to waste my time getting free advice only to the go price shop for the same item a nickel cheaper somewhere else. Then you would have the guts to bring the item back to my store that you purchased elsewhere and want more free advice when you didn’t understand how something functioned. You think your are being a smart shopper but the reality is you are a pain in my a**!
