I reserve praise for pictures I find exceptional. Otherwise I'm silent.

Beautiful! Would that I could do wood as you could.

Having retired early I've had plenty of practise. :)

Varnish oil finishes should periodically be rejuvenated. I decided to do a bit more than that. This is my custom set of red oak end tables. I regret that I didn't take many "before" shots, or during for that matter. Thanks for looking.

I went over the canopy with homemade lubricant and 2000 grit on my ROS. Turned out great.

Great job on the cabinet. I think we all need to applaud quality craftsmanship whenever we find it. Your photographs do justice to your handiwork. I also want to mention that I like your avatar. What is the name of the dog whom you belong to? Is he or she a particular breed?

Thanks much for the nice comments.

She's a miniature dachshund and her name is Maggie Mae. She's 11 years old and has been suffering with disc disease. She's quite a trooper. Great dogs they are.

Incidentally, the training video we used this for ran about 30 minutes. The camera is practically unused.

Light and ergonomic. You nailed that. And the video is indeed fantastic. Thanks for the endorsement.

That was always one of the perks of that kind of work, when someone would say "You made that?". you can be humble and let the piece speak for itself.
Again, something to be proud of.

Knowing every square inch of the canopy and having handled it dozens of times, I'm familiar with the subtlest flaws. They really eat at me because my self standards are pretty much unattainable. I'm very pleased with the project, fortunately. I went so far as to refine the finish on the cabinet so it was more on par with my work.

Yes, I'm proud of how it turned out.

Nice looking job! I was a finish carpenter in another career and did a lot of cabinet making. I was just wondering if the moulding is actual off the shelf moulding or did you use a router to create it. I would use stock moulding in combinations to create complex designs and a router to create simpler one of a kind stuff

Custom made the moulding. Simple Roman ogee. The profile is very similar to that of the cabinet.

Given your background I'm quite flattered by your assessment.
