That's hilarious, MrGNY. But it doesn't appear you were jesting. What color is the sky in your world? Thanks for reminding us that when talking to Trumpers...

The color of the sky in my world is blue when it’s sunny and grey when it’s cloudy.

Now from a hot mic during the Obama yrs, we’ll see what we can do after the e******ns. Oh how people forget.

He did beat a group of 17 for the nomination and the other side could have really come up with a better se******n also. So as I said in another post if people don’t like what’s going on, then get out and v**e and stop whining. If you didn’t v**e you can’t complain.

Hmm, let’s see, he doesn’t give in. He has a spine and isn’t afraid to push some buttons and gets things done. The tax bill has helped me personally. So that’s a plus. Oh my wages have increased. My 401k is doing great.

He isn’t taking orders from Putin. Your boy Obama was doing that and h*****g with Soros.

I know nothing of what I speak you say. At least I know that a good day of work and not relying on the government is making me money and a better person.

Remember what the government gives to you can be taken back.

This is a famous quote from iconic drummer, Buddy Rich. Buddy only wanted the best on stage with him. He didn’t care about their “moral character” or if they were pleasant to be around. He didn’t even care if he, himself, liked them. He hired only guys who could burn the room down with him …not boy scouts who were mediocre. Hence, the famous quote.

President Donald Trump appears to be in trouble. A series of confessions and convictions, of and by people around him, are casting a strange, dark light on his presidency at the moment. There is a perception (at least) that shady stuff has gone on around this guy. And when shady stuff constantly goes on around someone in charge, you have to conclude that the guy in charge is okay with shady stuff.

Has he hung around tax evaders and money launderers? Clearly. Did he pay off porn stars and Playboy Playmates to keep their dalliances quiet? I think we can safely conclude that he did. Is he a petulant child in the Twitter-verse? One hundred percent. Does he say things in public my mother would slap me for saying? Literally, everyday. Did he conspire with a foreign power to win an e******n? Maybe. Will any of this make a difference to his supporters? That’s a complicated answer. Let me explain …

I have a theory that all p**********l e******ns are reactions to the sitting president at the time. I’m old enough to remember Jimmy Carter getting elected (in large part) because he was a wholesome, moral breath of fresh air in an atmosphere of corruption and scandal created during the Nixon years. I was only a kid, but I distinctly remember entire churches being excited to go out and v**e for an openly Christian man for president. Then, after four years of that disaster, I remember those same people breaking speed limit laws to get to the polls to v**e for Reagan as fast as they could.

The conditions that created a “president Trump” kinda started with Bill Clinton, who led to George W Bush …who led to Barack Obama.

By the time we got to him, Mr Obama was going to be the antidote to incompetence and corruption and war mongering and, yes …even r****m. But a very strange thing happened during Mr Obama’s presidency. R****m didn’t end. Corruption didn’t end. Wars didn’t end. And incompetence might’ve actually gotten worse. My full day of talking to the customer service agent at the newly created healthcare exchange, did NOT leave me confident.

And what was discovered during Mr Obama’s 8 years, was that in a free market nation, over-taxing, over-regulating and a leader who constantly berates the business community and supports policies that place more emphasis on celebrating the “diversity” of people groups than on law and order for every individual, and foreign policies that take everything but the nation you’ve been elected to lead into account, simply doesn’t work.

What was also exposed in those 8 years was how feckless and weak Republicans had actually become in their opposition to such things. And with candidates literally talking openly about socialism and nationalizing private institutions, a guy like Trump comes along and promises to re-set the foundation of the nation the way Americans understand it …and the way they want it. Is he really that much of a surprise?

I talk occasionally about the fourth revolution. And Donald Trump is the leader of it.

If you’re appalled at the lewd behavior of your president, you’re behind. That ship sailed when one was getting blow jobs by an intern half his age, in the Oval Office …AND. NOBODY. CARED.

If you wish your president was decent and measured and refused to return fire at his critics, you’re behind. We already had that guy and he was called a war criminal, who should be tried at the Hague (Rosie O’Donell’s public announcement) and “r****ded” (Chris Rock’s word – DEFINITELY not mine), someone who should force his daughters to go to war (Matt Damon’s suggestion) a monster who deliberately broke the levies in New Orleans to drown black people (Spike Lee’s claim) and on and on and on …AND. NOBODY. CARED.

If you wish your president was upstanding and righteous and said all the right things, you’re behind. Mitt Romney already ran. AND. NOBODY. CARED.

If you wish your president was a humble and honorable true public servant, without moral blemishes, you’re behind. Bob Dole (a man who gave his right hand to his country) and John McCain (a man who gave both arms to his country) already ran. AND. NOBODY. CARED.

Donald Trump was the last branch to grab before the nation hit the ground. But he has changed the game in some ways.

Nobody believes a nice guy can get it done, anymore. We’ve had nice guys …and nothing changed.

Cutting taxes and repatriating a trillion dollars was the right thing to do. And it’s working. And only a guy who doesn’t give crap about what people think of him could’ve gotten it done. Moving the American embassy in Israel to Jerusalem was the right thing to do. It sends a message to the rest of the middle east and, in turn, creates a stability hard to quantify. Presidents on BOTH sides of the aisle have promised to do it. It should’ve been done decades ago. But only a guy who doesn’t give a crap about what people think of him could’ve gotten it done.

Taking Kim Jong Un on …head on …is looking like it was the right thing to do. But only a guy who doesn’t give a crap about what people think of him would’ve even attempted it.

While Mr Trump’s lawyers and campaign people were perp-walking in and out of ivory towers, a teenaged girl in Iowa – as middle-America a place as you can find – was being murdered by someone in the country illegally. That creates real world fear for Americans everywhere. We have enough fear of our own citizenry, breaking our own laws. And reasonable Americans don’t think it’s UNreasonable to ask people wanting to come to our country …to sign the hell in. They don’t see how that makes them r****ts. It simply doesn’t compute. And the only elected leader giving them any cover is the flawed president.

So, did Donald Trump collude and conspire with Russians to win an e******n? What the media and his opponents (and even a lot of Republicans) STILL don’t or can’t or won’t understand is that it doesn’t matter. He didn’t have to collude with anybody. He was going to win either way. He had millions of Americans at “build a wall” and “cut your taxes” and especially at, “I don’t give a crap what people think.”

Donald Trump may get impeached or arrested or disgraced or unseated or wh**ever. But what people had better realize is that if he’s gone, a large percentage of the population will be looking for something or someone JUST like him …to replace him. There’s too much at stake; too many socialists on the horizon, too many empty suits looking for lifetime political gigs, too many “nice guys” with great smiles and weak spines, to take anymore chances.

We just want an asshole who can play. And with the economy roaring and North Korea neutralized and ISIS basically contained and defeated, it appears that despite all the weirdness that surrounds him, he can, indeed, play.
This is a famous quote from iconic drummer, Buddy ... (show quote)

Well written.

I wish people would realize that it doesn’t matter which side of the political spectrum your on that we all have common goals we should strive for. Trump may not be a polished politician but he is what the people v**ed for.

If you don’t like the current situation, make sure to v**e. I h**e when people complain and you ask if they v**ed and reply no. Well then you can’t gripe about it.

Thank you all for the replies. This will not be a formal wedding as one would expect. This is a laid back non dressy event in the back yard of a house on a lake in the Adirondack Mountains. I had a professional photographer lined up but its not what they want. I completely understand the potential problems that may come up but I am going to be the guy regardless. My instinct is to set the camera on auto and take several shots of the location and see how it turns out. I’m arriving several days before the event so hopefully it will work out.

I did my wedding without a photographer. We had cameras on all the tables and my brother in law used my camera to take the shots of the ceremony. We did our wedding the same way your son is doing his. Laid back casual on a lake outdoors. Our wedding album is exactly what we wanted. All candid and non posed. My sisters all said they wished they did their weddings the way we did.

It was an enjoyable experience and friends and family comment till this day what a great wedding it was.

In that case a little bit of locktite would have prevented the screw from backing out.

The question is: does color accuracy/fidelity matter?

Well, judging by the number of people posting their photos on-line,
I guess not. :-) The image file may be balanced, but every display
device is different. So even if the image file is correctly balanced,
the image people see won't be. (Sigh.)

How many folks here white balance their computer monitors?
How many balance the displays on their smart phones (if it's even
possible)?

So if one only posts one's photos on line or e-mail them to people,
why bother to white balance the camera? (Of course, a serious
photographer will do it anyway, because it's the right thing to do).

Even a cheap digital camera has excellent color fidelity--given the
limitations of RGB color--if it's been white balanced. But color inkjet
and laser printers are a mixed lot: some good, some bad. And monitors
and color LCD screens are a disaster--because nobody bothers to white
balance them. (People used to white balance their projector and
plasma screen TVs, but times have changed).

There's also the issue that LCD screens have limited dynamic
range and their black isn't very black. This is more of a problem for
B&W than for color. Compared to the original, even a good scan of
an Ansel Adams landscape when displayed on an LCD looks like its
been bleached.

If digital sensors have less dynamic range than B&W print film, don't
worry: somebody will invent a display device that has even less
dynamic range than a digital sensor. The technology race-to-the-bottom
continues...cheaper and smaller...cheaper and smaller....

Finally, I'll just touch on the issue that all common light sensors and
display devices are RGB (3-primary additive color). But the particular
spectral color used as the primarly colors in the sensor and in the display
device may be different. So even if the display device is white balanced,
it may not produce the same color triangle as the sensor.

To add to the complexity, all common color inkjet and laswer printers are
Cyan-Magenta-Yellow (3-primary subtractive color). These are the subtractive
colors on the RGB color wheel -- but they are not exact matches. So even
they are perfectly white blanced, they will not produce exactly the same
color triangle. All inks are limited to available pigments, and (one hopes
in vain) to permanent ones.

Color film was equally complex: but was interchangable. If you didn't like
Kodachrome, you could load Anscochrome instead. Or Fuji Velveta.
Sure, you can redden a digital image with a filter or with PhotoShop, but
you can't change the value of the Red used by the camera's image sensor.

No matter what monochormatic colors the sensor designer choses for R G
and B, some hues will lie ouside that particular color triangle, and so cannot
be reproduced. Good luck reproducing sienna or burnt umbar!

Note that the Munsell system of colorometry uses *four* primary colors
to measure hue: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple. Four is a lot better
than three. (But only if one cares about color accuracy.)

RGB/CMY color has a certain look, which is very splashy. Impressionist
painters often use it. The closest to RGB/CMY in modern pigments is:
Yellow Cadmium Light = Yellow
Phthalo Blue = Cyan
Quinacridone magenta = Magenta
Only the cadmium yellow is permanent. But at least you get to choose.
As you do with a film camera. With a digital camera or printer, the
manufacturer gets to choose and you get to live with it.

Artists are all aware of color wheels and the problems of mixing colors.
But most photographers now take color for granted. And so we are all
living with splashy, phony looking color that looks different on each monitor.

Well, back in the day there were even more extremely bad color slides
and prints--but not *everybody's* were bad. There was more diversity
in the technology. Diversity is good.

Color film used various numbers of layers, and many different films were
available for common formats. In motion pictures, the Technicolor camera
(4th process, from 1932 on) used used three strips of three different emulsions
to caputre a single image. And lithogrpahy and dye transfer used various
numbers of colors. It was all very messy and expensive, but very capable.

If Elliot Porter is know for his color nature photography using the now
extinct dye transfer process. If he were alive and working today, he'd probably
be an oil painter.

Where is it written that color photography is supposed to be easy, convenient
and cheap? Oil painting certainly isn't. But in the hands of a master colorist,
the results ain't bad.
The question is: does color accuracy/fidelity matt... (show quote)

You are missing a color in your explanation of color printers. The colors used in a ink jet or laser printer are Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. That is known as 4 color process. Then you have higher end photo printers that add grey and another shade of magenta. Then there is also high fidelity printing that adds orange and green into the spectrum to make your colors pop.

You capture an image with light- R/G/B three channels. You print with inks or toners that use pigments.

You can use a monitor that is not calibrated and use the eye dropper tool to check your colors in RGB, to make sure they are correct. In this instance the blue color in a Pepsi can would have a RGB color reference and a CMYK reference depending on how the piece is going too be produced. Print or web.

The D7500 has the same sensor as the D500. The body has an internal focusing motor, shoots 8 frames per second and a 51 point auto focus sensor., electronic VR for video, flip screen and a carbon fiber body. I bought this camera back in october and love it. I was looking at the D500 and went with the D7500 for the weight. I don't miss the second card, never had a camera with 2 cards.

Either camera I think you will be happy with.
