Our local paper has a habit of doing a spread of new stores (mostly places to eat) and they show what wonderful food they serve and it looks really good but they never give the street address.

Interesting to read your experience. Today is my first day on a project to remove an old lining and replacing it with one that is 2 inches larger to fit a new stove I plan to purchase. I won't order the stove until I find out if the larger insert will fit. Dozens of trips will surely make me take a day off!

I can't speak to the amount of gas used but re-starting should take a hit on the battery and starter. I don't know the long term impact to them but the little gas used could cost less that both on them.

I always open the flu and close the stove and start from the top and work to the stove. Keeps all the ash in the stove and clean up is just opening the stove and removing the ashes. I would never start from the bottom unless you drop a rod to the bottom and then attach the brush to the rod and pull up but that seems backward.

I really don't like dealing with it. I really look at very little now and I could stop logging in and not miss it too much.

I'm sure Admin does review the use of the system. They should be concerned because their advertisers likely do as well. When users start spending a lot less time using the system, they have less to offer.

I personally don't like it. Before like some others I would scan through the photography section then photos and birds and only open one if it really was something I was interested in and then look at the general chit chat section. I would look at for sale depending on time. Now, I just look at general chit chat and exit. I really get much less enjoyment out of the site. I know that I can sort and sort and work my way through anything I like but I don't have the time to do that all morning. To me this sucks!

When I first built my home I had 2 lines installed with the plan to use one for a modem since high speed service was not available. A year or so later I got a satellite and called and ask to have one line removed. They offered to just leave it here if I would pay the tax on it. I found later when the company bought the company, part of the agreement with the FCC was that they would maintain some magic number of land lines and leaving my 2nd line active counts as one more toward their commitment. NJ's company may have some similar agreement with the FCC. By maintaining a high number of services makes it more likely that the copper network that serves the state will be better maintained since so many of the land line customers have gone cellular totally. just my guess!

I think doing illegal searches is wrong but I don't get too upset when they take illegal things off the road that I have to share with the drivers. I think most of the officers develop a second sense and are fairly accurate as to the type people that are possible carriers.

This is beyond sad. The OP says he has been enjoying UHH for a decade (though has commented only 70 times per year during his official membership), yet he is unwilling to spend a single day trying out the alternatives that many of us have suggested over the past four days in the forty-five topics on the subject of the digest format change.

Don't be so judgmental, you don't have to respond to topics to enjoy reading them. I like several others had the sequence of topics set up and I would read some and skim others but now I don't look at many of them. I got much more enjoyment with the older version.

I had a Ford that they did a total flush of the transmission and changed belts and more for the 60,000 mile service and I asked my Toyota dealer about the transmission and was told that most companies don't want you touching transmission fluid unless you are having a problem. Just saying what they do dealer by dealer can cause the expense to vary.

One thing to consider is that not all dealers do the same tasks when they do a 60,000 mile service.
