Political press conferences *really are* full of photographers using dSLRs in continuous shutter modes. I’ve been to several.

The sound you hear on TV and radio is very heavily compressed, using exotic, multi-band compressors like the Orban OptiMod.

This processing squashes the dynamic range of the original sound from around 90 decibels to about 15 dB or less. (It makes soft sounds louder and loud sounds softer.)

So the background noise gets sucked UP, the podium mic gets leveled, and the resulting mix is mush!

I use an older model of the Yongnuo - the RF 602. It works fine with my Nikon gear as a flash trigger or a remote shutter release. In fact, I set it up to do both using multiple triggers on different channels. One channel to handle the shutter release, and the other channel to trigger the flash. Worked flawlessly. They have since upgraded their offering to the RF605 -

I've been using their products since 2013 without issues. This was taken solo, with my other hand triggering the camera.

I have been insulted and some comments pretty vile on this forum. Some people even get personal. I always am surprised how people can have so much anger. I try to be a good person and respectful, so I don't respond with anger and spew out things to hurt. I love photography, and in my journey I have learned so much (with your help). I have improved so much and I have many photos I am proud of. I almost left this forum, but the helpful, kind and tactful people far out weigh the hurtful, unkind and mean people. I hope whatever situation made these people this way gets better. I truly appreciate all the kind advice and helpful criticism.
