WTF. You buy tickets to the cheap seats, and now expect a Nikon teleconverter to make your view better? The D500 is a great camera. Consider getting a great lens for it.

Of course, it would be a better story if the old curmudgeons in the bottom pic, had been reverted back to their younger selves.

Ahhhh. New York Pizza. The best, the pizza experts say. Real Italian restaurant style too.

I will agree that NY pizza is great. Not sure about the "Real Italian Style" part.

First time I ordered a pizza in Italy, it was NOTHING like what Americans call pizza. They use very little sauce, and very few toppings, generally cooked in wood-fired ovens, and generally crispy style crust. I ordered an "American Pizza" near Naples thinking it might resemble what I was used to in the USA. It had a hot dog cut up on top of it! LOL

Simply but, I use my cropped sensor for wildlife and my full frame for landscapes. Choose what camera can deliver what you are interested in.

Me too, Bill. I use a D500 and D810....the D810 was purchased (gently used) from a member on this site when he decided to go to the D850.

It's easy to forget that there is a non-VR version of the 24-70mm f2.8. It is also a Gold Ring lens, but at significantly lower cost, somewhat smaller size, and somewhat less weight than the version with VR. It's what I have, and I do not miss image stabilization at those focal lengths. Very nice used ones are generally available at about half the price of the VR version.

Agree....

I use a pretty wide range of lenses on my D810. Some are Gold Ring lenses and some are not. None are low end lenses. I find that any lens I use performs to its best on that camera. If you make large prints (a "contact print" on the D810 is just about 16x20) you will notice a very visible difference when using less than the best lenses, but you will also notice a very visible positive difference from using those lenses on a lesser camera.

I agree with Larrypage.

I do understand your budget constraints, but.... I shoot with a D810 and D500. I have found that the quality of the glass makes the biggest difference in image quality. I've had less expensive, 3rd-party lenses and find that some (not all) are good....but

For me, the Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8; the Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8; and the Nikkor 105 f/2.8 Micro (all gold band lenses) produce superb images. Round it out with the Nikkor 200-550 (not gold band but highly respectable), and you have an unbeatable combination.

Here are a few questions for you to consider: Ever wondered why Nikon doesn't need to offer a "Tap-In Console" or "USB Dock" for it's lenses? Ever wonder why Nikon lenses autofocus faster and more accurately than 3rd-party lenses on a Nikon camera? Ever wonder why the resale value of Nikon optics remains so high?

Mark,

I love mathematics....taught Physics (high school and Jr. College) for 35 years. These are LOGIC problems involving numbers....not true mathematics. Right?

My Sirui from B&H fits that bill.

But are you sure it will support the Telephone lens?

IMHO...If your budget allows, and you CARE about superb image quality....go with the Nikkor 24-70 f.2.8 and the Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8. It really won't get much better than that!

Dear Ken,

In order to be more helpful, we need to know what camera you own, what type(s) of photography you enjoy, and your budget. Micro/macro, landscapes, portraits, wildlife, etc, each have different requirements.

Puerto Rico has some beautiful sights. Remember to take plenty of Duct Tape, and Velcro to secure the 5 yr old.

It will be interesting to hear if there is a simpler way than Elements. Regardless of the software you will still have to control opacity, brush size and brush hardness/shape. Here is another tutorial for PSE:

Which version of Elements do you have? And what did you find the most challenging that caused you to give it up?

Actually, DxO PhotoLab 2 allows for 'Local Adjustments' via 'Control Points.' Very intuitive and easy to use.

No you don't, just ignore it and press it all the way when you are ready to take the shot.

YES, you should assign the focus to the back button, AND disable the focus from the shutter button. That way, the shutter button only controls exposure, and doesn't "undo" what you focused with back button.

OK...so here is a screen capture of the Harbor Freight digital multimeter. Most times, it is FREE with another purchase. It does the job of most non-technical applications...
