Thanks for all the quick responses. I used Don's suggestion and called Nikon Customer Support. I explained the ad and they said it is definitely a gray market camera and Nikon will not support it. It was being sold by a company called Eternal Photo with no address. There was also a note that the camera is covered by Amazon Customer protection. I think that refers to damage in shipping, etc.
Thanks Don, I should have done that the first thing. I guess I was hoping to hear from some of our experts here on UHH.
I have been looking at a Nikon D7200 on Amazon. The advertisement states that the camera is an "import" model. The price is good and it comes with two lenses and other assorted goodies. I have seen articles here on UHH and others on the internet about avoiding these import cameras. However, I just found this document that says that as of 5/19/19 Amazon is a Nikon Dealer. Is there something here that I am missing? I know from experience that Amazon backs the products that they sell but I don't want to stumble uninformed into a bad deal if Nikon won't honor a warranty because I bought it from Amazon. Any help really appreciated. The list is in the download. Thanks, Paul
My wife came running into the house yelling "get your camera" so I grabbed it and ran after her. This young bear was right down the street feeding on some food he had taken out of the trash can in the neighbor's garage. I took the pictures from about 40 yards, with my hand held Nikon B700 P&S. The telescope has good reach but the sensor isn't good enough to get really sharp images in this situation. Fun though.
I really enjoy watching the hummingbirds coming into the feeder. I keep waiting for the wings spread, hovering shot but it is really tough to catch them in flight because they move so fast and I'm just not getting a fast enough shutter speed. The three species that we see regularly are the Ruby-Throated, Anna's, and the Rufous. It was a sunny day and I was sitting in the shade about 12 feet away.
A pint of Guinness if you please!
Hi Reconvic--Now that is one angry bird. In the Download you can see she is looking directly at your lens.
She must have thought it was a big eye. Great shot!
I agree Grandpaw. You got me. I could only find one species of the Laughing Gull with the black head though.
Hi Grandpaw, Nice shot, but I think it's actually a Tern.
Sue, really an interesting shot. I see a young mind opening up to a wider world. Nicely done.
Steve, Wonderful photos. I stood in those very spots myself when my wife and I visited all 5 of the Utah National Parks and two of the Utah State Parks. Wonderful trip in a magnificent part of the US.
I've never seen the nesting behavior in pelicans before. Very interesting and great shots. He looked very busy and it seems he kept you pretty busy himself. My favorite was number four. I usually just see pelicans hanging around the fish cleaning areas trying to grab the big pieces ahead of the other birds. Thanks for posting.
Steve, What a fun photo. You started my morning off with an out loud laugh. I can hear the dog saying; "How am I doing Boss?" Thanks
I have lived in Seattle since 1971. This once beautiful city has a lot of problems now. I would recommend that you view on YouTube a video called "Seattle is Dying". The downtown area of Seattle is not what it used to be. All the other recommendations above are "Right On". There is much beauty in Washington State and it can be found all over the state. Just be careful in the downtown area. It really hurts me to have to write this about the city that at one time truly lived up to the name; "The Emerald City".
Good catch! While in the Navy I was stationed aboard a submarine and we had Flying Fish on our deck all the time while surfaced.
