Have been shooting nature/wildlife with a 7D mark ll for a few years and really enjoying it but wanting to branch out. Looking for a full frame camera to delve into the world of macro and saw the 5Ds. It can be purchased for roughly the same price as a 5D mark lV, higher megs, familiar processor. Anyone have experience with this model. Thoughts and advice appreciated.

As you all know, I just purchased the canon 5D Mark IV. Questioning my decision. Should I have gone with the Nikon D850? This post isn't meant to be Canon vs Nikon but rather just for information by comparison on the two cameras. I still can return the Mark IV and get the D850 when they are available again. I have made the comparison on B&H and am still undecided. Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks. Vince.

It' not what can you do differently but what will you do with the 850 that you can't do with the 5D?

Hello all posted yesterday looking for feedback on the canon 5diii and sigma 120-300mm sport lens. I currently have a 7d markii and a tameron 70-200mm 2.8 zoom. I shoot 99% hockey and baseball. The 200mm is a good lens but just not enough. I love the burst rate of the 1dx but $$ is out of range unless a used model. I have a 7500 budget. Please help me find the Best options for my money.

The image you currently achieve at 200 on the 7d is the same size as a 320 on the 5diii. I use the 7d markii with the 100-400 canon lense for birding, birds in flight. Am very pleased with the way they function.

Do any of you have a better than nothing, 24/7 pocket camera? If so, what?

My Canon G7mark2 has a 1" sensor and fits in my shirt pocket although I prefer to carry it in my pants pocket.

We're heading to South Carolina in a few weeks. Will be spending a few days in Charleston, then driving to Myrtle Beach for a week. Anybody have any tips on great photo ops or any must see or must do?

Sitting at the airport in Charleston as I type this. Spent a week here on vacation and did lots of walking around the "historic district". May seem cliché but enjoyed photographing all the churches; inside and out. Was up and about before sunrise looking for the best lighting. There are also several rooftop bars that offer wonderful shots come sunset. Don't forget the harbor and "the Market".

I've been going through the process of deleting files to create more disk space on my Mac laptop. Since I recently started shooting RAW, I seem to have a lot of different files stored on my computer. The question is: is there any reason I shouldn't delete the "white" icons that have "XMP" on them as well as files that end in CR2? I feel like I should stick to saving only the edits (many are also on a couple of other external sites as well as being backed up on external HDs) and not worry about these extra files. I have no intention of doing further edits on the old files.

Your thoughts and advice are appreciated. -Vicki
I've been going through the process of deleting fi... (show quote)

A few months back I was looking at some older pics and realized that I had an opportunity to make them better, needed the originals. Now I delete the jpegs when I finish with them. Doesn't give a lot more space but sure keeps the files neater.

You have a fine camera, if I were you I would keep the camera and buy a good lens that will fit your needs.

Point well taken!

Don't t expect much improvement in the next 2 weeks unless we get some rain and a break from the heat. As an alternate... Check out Smith Rock, and Painted Hills. The are in Central Oregon.

Thanks for the suggestion. Photos look gorgeous. Wife and I are heading up for our 40th anniversary and wanted some place new so they all qualify.
