Matt, very nice series. I especially like the hummingbird image. Have never been to Yosemite so they are also very nice. Not sure about the B&W images, however.

Thanks Dennis. Yosemite is a very cool place. I appreciate your comments.

Hi all,

Finally got around to editing a few more shots from a trip to Yosemite, Joshua Tree, and Bosque Del Apache in Dec '21 (and another Yosemite trip in May '22).

The scanned film is 6x7 Ilford HP 5+ or Fujichrome, shot with a Mamiya RB67 Pro-S and a 65mm f/4.5 lens.
The digital shots are from a Nikon D3 paired with a Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 or a Nikon D500 paired with a Sigma 150-600mm f/5.3.

If you ever get a chance to see the Sequoias, I highly advise that you do so. To call them impressive is a vast understatement.
Now, I'm moving on to pp'ing my shots of the redwoods on the CA coast... I may have a few from there coming up. They are equally impressive in their own way.

CC is always appreciated. I hope you enjoy.

- Matt

I use a paid version of Coffee Cup HTML editor (from the same company) and it is full of nice features that are useful. I know it is not the site designer, but I would presume that the site designer is made with similar quality at least. I believe you can trial it. I recommend their products (I am not affiliated with them, just a happy customer).

lovelylyn, If you decide to sell the camera, film, and accessories, please let me know via PM. I shoot with a Mamiya RB67 ProS and would love to add a 645 to my stable. I also have a Pentax 645 NII that I enjoy.

If you keep it, shoot with it. Ilford HP5+ is not that expensive, and TheDarkroom.com does a great job processing and scanning film. Film is a lot of fun.

Enjoy!

The Darkroom.com does all of my E6 film processing. General rule is to add 1 stop for exposure for every decade the film is expired, so in your case add 1.5 stops. As others have said, depending on how the film has been stored, the colors can be all over the place. I like shooting expired film (both color and B&W) as u really never know what you will get. I don't recommend using it for those once in s lifetime moments though ;).

Enjoy your experience!

I was there in December and had a great time. Although there were reportedly fewer birds than in past years, it was still impressive. Got some great images out of it. We were only there for a short time (one evening and a sunrise the next day). I'd certainly go back.

As a matter of fact... my avatar pic is of a roadrunner that posed for us during our trip there.

Black labs are awesome. We are currently owned by one (he is 110 lbs) and we had another many years ago... always happy and ready to play.
