I've always liked my little GoPro Hero 8 (admittedly long outdated!); like Jerry, I don't hardly use it or my other gear these days, though not by choice. I wanted to post this mainly to say that the majority of material I've read about shooting video with these cameras has usually recommended shooting a series of short-duration clips rather than one long clip which would be much more likely to make the processor run hot. You can always stitch them together into a long video in post.

Military marching commands incude "break step"
I remember the command as " Route step, HARCH!!". (Route being pronounced as "Rowt"). Based on 20 years in the Regular Army.
A great shot indeed; a good example of serendipity. It's unlikely I'll ever be able to see such an exhilarating spectacle, but I've got vivid memories (and photos / time lapse video!) of the total solar eclipse of August 2017 (my town was in the narrow band of totality), definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience in its own right.

Stores near me don't seem to have the Cross pen refills
I got a 2-pack of 8513-2 Cross refills (OE, not a knockoff) via Amazon Prime; cost was $9.96 when I ordered them in June 2018

Well, King Canute tried that in the 12th century and didn't get anywhere...

Just wondering if anyone has found a decent ballpoint pen? I have bought several from Costco and Walmart and I have never found one that in dependable. You would think someone could make a pen that works it is so frustrating to be in the middle of filling out a document and it stops laying down ink.
I was given a Cross ballpoint back in August of '09; I don't use it every day, but have always carried it in my shirt pocket. What I was most impressed with was how much time (literally years) went by before replacing the ink cartridge. It never skipped or smeared, either. Wouldn't be surprised if I end up passing it on after I've passed on (I'm 73!). Highly recommend a Cross Pen.

Back around the time (2016) that I joined the UHH forum, there was a thread started similar to this one, about annoying calls; at that particular time it mostly concerned persistent Cold Calls from salespeople. My response was how I'd just hand the phone to my wife who would happily talk to them in Korean. We get almost no calls of these types anymore, and for those that get through we have a neat little Panasonic Call Blocker with a big red button that cuts off the call and adds the number to an internal database that blocks any repetition.

Madonna can't hold a candle to Patty Lupone, the original Evita on Broadway back in '79 - '80 (though I believe she didn't much like the role even though she won her first Tony award for it).
Back in 1968, I was stationed at Fort Greely, Aklaska. I remember a serious wreck that happened in October of that year. A staff sergeant from the Post Engineer's Office was driving his Ford Mustang convertible back to base at about 3 in the morning, and was "feeling no pain" as the old saw goes. They figure he was going around 70 mph when the buffalo trotted out in front of his car. His injuries were so bad he ended up before a medical board (don't know the outcome). The car was in pieces, the buffalo was killed by the impact and the orphanage in Delta Junction got the meat.
