I spoke to Canon today, after giving them the Ser# of the battery they offered to replace it as a one time courtesy. They did ask me to dispose of the battery at a local recycle center, which I did after speaking with them. What can you say about their customer service!!!

Contact Canon, if for nothing else to give them a heads up. If you buy from Canon do you get a serial number on the receipt?

I'm going to contact them tomorrow, I don't know if you get the serial# on the receipt of small items.

Did you ever drop it? I dropped one once and didn’t notice the damage right away. It was only when I was taking it out of the camera that I realized the case had cracked

Not that I remember, case looks pristine.

Lithium batteries have a habit of swelling up when they go bad, I would suggest not reusing as it could become permanently stuck in the battery compartment. Contact Canon support.

Thanks, for the info, I'll contact canon support.

They said it is over 30 days old and there is no way to prove that it is the battery i purchased there. I can see their point who records the serial number on the battery at time of sale. It's not like a camera or a lens. I can't fault them for being cautious, the 30 policy is right on the receipt not like they pulled it afterwords or anything. I see what Canon says.

It is the LP-E6N, I bought it at the local camera shop and paid @$68 for it. It came in all Canon packaging.
If this does turn out to be a non Canon battery by some chance, how can you tell at time of purchase??

This was a Canon battery bought at local camera shop. I think I will call canon tomorrow and see what they say. I don't feel comfortable ever putting it in my 5D M4 again.

Has anyone else ever have a canon LP6N battery come apart? It looks like the case came apart at the seam around the battery which is only about 4 months old. I tried to snap it together with no luck, it just comes apart as soon as I release pressure. Should I try to glue it or contact Canon?

Thanks
Tom

Hi, I wanted to know which aspect ratio to shoot at to get correct 8 x 10 prints? It seems every time I try to print 8 x 10 prints the software tries to "squish" the photo to fit. If I print 8 x 12 they come out great. Any help will be appreciated!
