Planning a trip to Ireland in September and
will take my camera and lens -
Canon 5iii with Canon 24 - 105 and extra
Canon 100 - 400 L II. Want to downsize
to smaller carryon bag to take everywhere.
Have a Pelican that fits in overhead bin but
too heavy and cumbersome for tour bus.
My question is what is the most compact
way to transport, plane or bus to keep it
all with me. Willing to buy the right one.
Will wrap with bubble wrap if I need to.

I will also be traveling to Ireland in September, on a bus tour. Look for the guy with a Peak Design back pack and Fujifilm gear!😃
I am open for your ideas and THANKS!

I'm interested in buying a small entry level/intermediate level mirrorless camera for street photography and I need some suggestions. I would like to keep the cost around $500 to $800 if possible.

Fujifilm X-T10 and 16-50mm Lens. Used from KEH will come in around that price.

So, I go and buy a Sony a6000 just to have something small and light to do family snaps. Liking that, the next thing comes to renting an A7ii to go on vacation vs. bringing my D610. Liking that even better, comes to reading and researching Sony and Fuji mirrorless. What put me over the edge was going on a landscape shoot with my friend with my D800 and his using his new Christmas gift, A7Riii. Without making comparisons between my D800 and his Sony, to try and keep this post short, I've acquired severe mirrorless (proverbial jumping-ship) GAS. But, the dilemma lingers. The angel appears on the right shoulder and says, "Be satisfied with what you have!!" The devil on the left is shouting, "Sell everything...GAS, GAS, GAS." I have a lot invested in Nikon gear, and I'm not related to Warren Buffet to just buy (even slowly) into a new system. Anyone have/had this feeling?

Yes. Until recently I had a good sized Nikon system, which was impossible for me to cart around. Gave up and switched to Fujifilm. Absolutely love it.

I have mirrorless cameras (ILMC).

My EDC (every day carry) bag is a Tenba Switch 10. It carries an ILMC + a lens or two + a bunch of other stuff. Friends call it my "murse", and I use it like one.

When I get on an airplane, all that stuff and more + another ILMC (system) + a 14" laptop goes in a Tenba Cooper 15.
When full, that's about as much weight as I care to have over my shoulder, or cross-body.

I call it my “curse” ( camera purse). Wife doesn’t find that very funny!

I'm curious what bag, backpack, hard shell or soft, do you use for everyday carry from A to B? I'm looking at the Peak Design Everyday Messenger but the price is a bit steep, unless someone reading this is absolutely blown away by it. I am looking for protection, functionality, strength (well built), comfortable for the hike in/out, and a well deserved price. Again, just a daily carry. Thanks Hogs!!

I own both a Peak Design Everyday Messenger and Everyday Backpack (30 litre). They are pricey compared with the competition, so if your local camera store doesn’t carry them in stock for an in person comparison check out the many YouTube videos with users doing it for you. I lean towards the back pack now as 2 straps distribute weight better than one.

KEH EX+ rating, yea or nay? Looking at a Canon 70-200L, it seems awful inexpensive to me. How do y'all feel about KEH and their rating system?

THANKS!!!

Recently purchased a Fujifilm X-T10 and 16-50mm lens. Both items arrived in advertised condition and performed as expected. After 7 days, I decided I would prefer the X-T1 and a different lens. I contacted KEH and requested to return items. I shipped back to them, had email contact with customer service and received a full refund shortly thereafter. I will definitely do business there again when in the market for another lens for the X-T1.

I usually carry one camera and a couple lenses, occasionally a speed lite. I want to be able to open the top of the bag fast, do a lens swap using the bag to hold stuff during the transition. I don't want to have to unbuckle straps to get the top open or a top flap getting in the way while I am doing stuff in the bag. I usually travel light, with a good idea of what I need for a particular outing. It doesn't have to be big. I want to swing it around in front of me, open the top, reach in for what I need and close the top again. Something weather resistant is a bonus too. Thanks for any suggestions you may have. I see peak design has some options ($$$) Anyone using a rig like this now?

I have that bag and like it a lot! Just gave it to my daughter because I bought their backpack.

Also, the Sigma 50-150mm f2.8 is a wonderful lens for crop sensor cameras, but was discontinued and is difficult to find.
